Please Note: The player-base of Zero G Arena is currently such that you are unlikely to find other players online by chance. If that is a deal-breaker for you then I cannot suggest you buy the game. Otherwise, Zero G Arena does feature bots, private servers and has an official discord which players can use to arrange matches. See below for a full list of features.

Zero G Arena is an arena shooter with zero gravity, ragdoll physics, grappling beams and magnet boots. It's an intense combination!

The game is designed to work on multiple levels of play:

The novelty of the mechanics and the sheer fun of floating and swinging about the levels provides a fun experience at any level of play.

The outlandish hijinks that are enabled by the ragdoll physics, grapple beams and fast-paced action make the game hilarious fun to play casually with friends (or with friendly strangers on public servers...).

At it's core, Zero G Arena is a balanced, competitive game with an extremely high skill-ceiling. Mastery of the movement mechanics is of more importance than aiming ability. You may also be surprised by it's tactical depth (feel free to ask me on the forums for more about this).

Gameplay

Movement

You can toggle your boot magnets freely to switch between running on magnetic surfaces or floating with zero gravity ragdoll physics.

You also have a grappling beam, which can be used to pull yourself around and swing about while floating.

As well as these technological locomotive methods, you also have a powerful set of core movement abilities:

A set of basic jumps, which can be controlled intuitively using the spacebar and movement keys.

A wall-jump, which can be used while floating to bounce from wall to wall.

A crouch ability, which can be used to do a crouching slide on magnetic surfaces to dodge enemy fire.

Combat

Zero G Arena features a set of 5 futuristic firearms. All players start with the same default weapon and can acquire other weapons from pickups in the map.

Zero G Arena also features a pickup that can turn your grapple-beam into a weapon that damages other players on intersection.

Use your speed as a weapon with the melee kick! It's damage scales greatly with your speed relative to the target.

Game Modes

Zero G Arena features the classic Free-For-All, Team-Deathmatch and King-Of-The-Hill game modes, as well as these Zero-G originals:

”Capture-The-Sphere”: Like the familiar Capture-The-Flag game mode, except the “flag” is a large, floating sphere. Players must use their grapple beams to pull the sphere to their goal, while fighting off the other team.

”Spaceball”: A fast, team-based sporty game-mode similar to Soccer/Football. Players don't have any weapons other than a non-lethal “Force Cannon”, which can be used to shoot the ball across the map.

Features

Online multiplayer, with either dedicated or listen (player hosted) servers. Find other players on one of the dedicated servers, or host a private game for you and your friends.

Bots which are available for offline play, or on servers while you wait for other players.

No in-game monetary transactions.

A number of cosmetic options for your avatar, which are unlocked through Steam achievements.

Basic support for LAN matches.

Community-made maps (these are made outside of the game using UE4 {which is free to use}).

Original soundtrack.

LOTS of fun even in it's current state. It still needs a lot of work but that's obvious because the game is still in Early Access. It's playable, just not a lot of content and players. I can only see 2 servers when finding a game. But it's still growing and soon it will get more players. Right now it only has 3 game modes: Free for All, TDM and Capture the Sphere. CtS is like Capture the flag gamemodes in other games, but this time it's a sphere and you have to pull it with your gun to the goal. I like it, but it has balancing issues. Can be fixed by maybe adding a respawn timer and make the sphere move faster. The game only has 6 maps and 5 guns right now, but they all vary. Can't go wrong with this game, it still has a lot of room for improvement and it will be updated frequently. If you want to try the game, see how gravity works in this game and whatnot, go for it! It takes time getting used to it, but it's really fun!

Pros And Cons Pros -Very fun gameplay -Funny to play -Maps are great -Simple controls, could pick it up in 3-5 min -Very cheap -Never gets old -Smol game -Not pay-2-win -Simple interface -Balaced combat (not pun intended) -Simple Host-n-Play games -Great for Lan parties, for the mac-pc compatability, and the size of the game Cons -No singleplayer bots (Yet) -Typical server consists of 1-3 players -Very repetitive audio -Glitchy looking opening screen Overall I rate this game 8/10. It really needs single player bots because of how small the community is. I reccomend getting a subreddit or a couple of ads somewhere in order to see this game really fly. Amazingly fun to play with friends, for the current sale price of $3.59 this is a bargain. However, it has a microscopic player base, so if you don't have any friends to play with you'll probably find yourself very bored and lonely. I can't even put my fingers on how great this is, just get it with some friends and you won't regret it.

The concept's really awesome. You're basically Spiderman in a zero gravity arena where you can stand on specific surfaces by activating you magnetic boots. You have guns ranging from smgs to rocket launchers, plus some other odd ones. You can customize your helmet and boots, which is fantastic. What I really liked is the speed with which you move. I mean, check out the trailer. However it takes some time to get used to moving around like that as the mechanics can be very confusing at first. The problems with this game is that the playerbase is very small and the game is a bit buggy. You'ld get games like twice a week on the dedicated servers. Also the AI aren't in the game yet, so you dont get to do much most of the time. Bugs are rare, but the dev always manages to fix them. Would I recommend this game? Definitely, but I would also tell you to wait for the playerbase to grow before buying this.

This game, this is a damned fine game. I'm even upset at the crap that Steam has pulled out on this game, because this is what the cheaper indies on Steam should be. It's clear that the developer has thought out what they wanted to achieve, and how they were going to get there. If you want some fun, classic style arena shooter multiplayer action, or you just want a fun physics game, they're both right here. Jon, I know you said with all that Steam did you may not be able to go on making games, but I hope that's wrong because I truly believe you've got some talent here.
