Incredibly addicting. As an angler in real life, this game captures the thrill of waiting for that bite. It's a must with a controller, the rumble features add that extra layer of realism when the fish is head shaking during a fight. Looking forward to trying out the second iteration. -YOU CAN FISH, unlike that time your friend’s Dad took his son and you on a deep sea fishing trip in Destin Florida, you won’t be throwing up into a bucket for hours until you return to the shore. -Controller support is available and easy to use.
CONS
-It’s a little demanding on your PC, I had to set mine to potato just to make it look like I was Link fishing in Ocarina of Time. The main reason I bought this game was for the immersion, so having to nerf the graphics to speed up the game didn’t have me doing backflips. -There are zero mermaids to date.

Warning to future buyers: at any time your saved game can be deleted by this company for no reason. I bought this game back in Jan with all the lakes, rivers and seas but only decided to play it recently. I wasted over 80 hours in order to learn the game, (there is a learning curve). But I learned well, racking up over 20k in points for accessories. it was fun catching different fish. I learned how to catch the biggest fish in the different lakes and seas. BUT........and here is where things get fishy (pun intended!)....apparently when you start getting "good" the company doesn't like it. if you climb the leader-boards at a faster rate they decide to delete your saved game with all your points, fish, AND ranking! then they call it a BUG. (sure!) Up till today no reason was given to me why I lost my saved game. According to their forum there is a topic that is pinned with dozens of people complaining about losing their games for no reason. they refuse to even give your money back. when asked they replyed to others that they cannot guarantee anything. (how is that for customer service?). According to the forum topic, this has been going on since 2017. people have been losing their games for over 5 years. that shows me this is no random event. this is well planned and continues till today. Im amazed steam has been letting this go on for so long without taking any action. make no mistake these people are indeed ruthless. just be warned before you invest time and money here. they have done it to me and countless others and there is a good chance this can happen to you too. good luck whatever you choose to do. - Bykeracer

Even though Ultimate Fishing Simulator is not like real Fishing, it is pretty damn close. There are 18 different Fisheries. There is Ice Fishing, Fly Fishing, Trolling, Still Fishing. There are Fish from under 1 Lbs. to almost 2,000 Lbs. The Equipment has several different Rods in 5 different category's multi line weights and styles, and hooks, leaders, floats, and lures..........The combinations are endless. You can have three profiles, in Sandbox, Normal, and Realistic, There are Leaderboards, that renew at the 1st of each month, that separate Realistic and normal, as far as I know there is no leaderboard for Sandbox. As a real life Fisherman playing UFS I believe is the most fun you can have without the real thing.....I have played almost 600 hours and plan to play many more! - Shatha

Tried to like this but I had to refund. Compared to fishing planet the realism is just absolutely not on par. you can be reeling in a tiny little fish and it gives a huge fight. Behavior of the fish just doesn't quite make sense and isnt very real either. And the prices on things are just very inflated so you still have to sit and do grinding to progress. - 𝐂𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐞

It's a fishing enthousiast's dream. Pretty realistic, with good enough graphics. Many places to visit and skill/gear upgrades. You just need patience, like in real life. Too bad the cold beers are not included with the game :) Anyway recommended. - Soxs

I fished and didn't, or quite frankly couldn't, look back. Before I knew it I caught a 60 pound catfish with my bare hands. No longer was I worried about my wives c-section triplet birth. No longer was I worried about my trailers rent payment. And daggummit most of all I wasn't worried about filling my tractors motor oil up anymore. Because this was it, fishing. 7/10

Tried to like this but I had to refund. Compared to fishing planet the realism is just absolutely not on par. you can be reeling in a tiny little fish and it gives a huge fight. Behavior of the fish just doesn't quite make sense and isnt very real either. And the prices on things are just very inflated so you still have to sit and do grinding to progress. - 𝐂𝐡𝐥𝐨𝐞

It's a fishing enthousiast's dream. Pretty realistic, with good enough graphics. Many places to visit and skill/gear upgrades. You just need patience, like in real life. Too bad the cold beers are not included with the game :) Anyway recommended. - Soxs

I fished and didn't, or quite frankly couldn't, look back. Before I knew it I caught a 60 pound catfish with my bare hands. No longer was I worried about my wives c-section triplet birth. No longer was I worried about my trailers rent payment. And daggummit most of all I wasn't worried about filling my tractors motor oil up anymore. Because this was it, fishing. 7/10
