This game saved my life. I am 27. My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and adopted our son together. They are now both 4 years old. When we were going through our separation, I found myself lost and miserable. I was self destructive. I got so mad one day from everything spiraling out of my control that I punched some concrete in a moment of overwhelming emotion. That caused me to break my 5th metacarpal in my right hand... my working hand... my games hand.. the hand that I held and carried my children to bed with.. The hand I desperately needed to make sure I could continue to provide. After learning of the severity of my self-inflicted damage, I was borderline suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man with no history of depression or anxiety. I have never had fits of rage, or been one to break down and cry, but I was in a low spot that just really buried me from being able to see the light on the other side. Having nothing better to do, I searched for a game I could play, ONE HANDED while I recovered. I somehow stumbled upon this game and read some of the reviews. I decided that it had to be worth a shot... I must admit, I didn't beat the game, or play nearly as long as some of you. In fact, I may have only played this game a day or two.. With that being said, after doing so, I had a new found joy and hope for life. I was able to put behind me the pain and suffering that had been cast over me. I was able to experience other peoples joy and happiness. I was able to see the fruits of my "labor". I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ing minutes to this music long enough to realize that I was going to be okay. After coming to that realization, I turned the game off, and I went back to work. It hurt my hand like hell but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so damn sorry for myself, and I became the father I needed to be in that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving as. Today, I am close friend with my kids mother. We don't fight, or argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents, and friends. I now have 3 kids. My third child is, wait for it, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my own separation, and we just stumbled in to each others life unexpectedly. We have been in a relationship for a year now, and are very happy together. Moral of the story, you never know what life holds in store for you, and if I would have given up when all the odds were stacked against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that. Thank you

Good work! Not without drawbacks but horribly sweet and wonderful. Designed by debutants, invested, it seemed to me, the whole soul, the heart and other body parts in this work. The undoubted advantage of the game is a bright and sensual panache. The characters and locations was done with love and diligence. The plot is non-linear and gives scope for acting out the role. All your deeds, from boldly sharp to gently complaisant, have consequences. The game, like any passionate nature, has its dark side. Somewhere discernible plot holes, somewhere flat characters, somewhere lacked experience, but in general, I can only praise the developers and wish a great things!

A bit short for the price, and lot of typos and screwy grammer (at least in the english version), but overall a fun read. It has Interesting and enjoyable characters, plot and setting which is more than I can say about a lot of VNs, and also a good amount of custom art. Not outstanding by any means, but if you like VNs, and this one seems like your kind of story, you will prabably enjoy it (Unless you hate bad english). Update: After the big text update, things may have changed (its hard to tell), but the grammer is still pretty off; the worst typo I remembered is still there. Even in the same block of text, there are mixed tenses (present, past, and present progressive mainly). The choices tend to not have parallel structure, and some don't even form verb phrases or sentances. The worst example I remember (which I checked is still there) is "Strugle with the word" which is supposed to mean something more like "Struggle onward with the sward". "To blame Lin" is another choice example of something that should be a verb phrase ("Blame Lin") but is clearly gramicatically wrong. I replayed a section of the game (maybe 40 blocks of text) and only found two lines that I wouldn't edit for grammer. Its all close, but hardly any of its auctually correct. It is littered with things like mistking lightened vs lit, "painfully stings" vs "stung painfully", won't vs wouldn't, missing "the" in a few places, comma splicing where ";" or "." should be used etc. Its readable, but the issue clearly remains despite the text update.

Fun game and makes you feel like you have a choice and the ability to play the protagonist's personality the way you want. The only think that bothered me about this game was the English translation. Not just poor grammar, the sentence structure often makes it difficult to discern what they are trying to say. Because of this poorly worded translation all of the characters seemed to have the same voice. While it is not "someone set us up the bomb" level of bad, it is still difficult to follow. The story is good, the art unique and attractive but the wording is a deal breaker. For a visual novel it is hard to overlook problems in the novel half of the genre.

This is an interesting little novella. You are Kang, a young soldier being escorted to the capital by an old friend Lin, who you may have... feelings for. During a blizzard, you end up at an tavern run by Mei, who may have... interesting diversions. The mystical place they are in includes a she-werewolf named Shan who has a harsh reputation, but whose heart you might begin to thaw. These are the three women you might end up with, depending on your choices. Or you could end up dead. Hopefully, the former. It is a decent game.

This game gives you plenty of choices as well as intriguing characters who I would have loved to learn more about. And if you're someone who plays games like these just for the fanservice, I can promise you that this game has plenty of that.

Imagine if the discount versions of The Witcher and Game of Thrones had an illegitimate child, then turned it into a visual novel. There's probably a story and a gripping fantasy world here, but it's just not enough. I can get a lot better from other games, but the effort is at least somewhat appreciated. Sure, I'm not one of the more avid fans of the fantasy genre, so I'm sorry that this didn't do it for me.

The game is not as kitschy as it might look like. It directly/indirectly mentions pretty serious subjects including, but not limited to: dictatorship, xenophobia, uprisings in times of hardship and iron-fisted supression of the uprisings, alcoholism, gambling, betrayal, lies, fear of the unknown, law of the strongest, being forced to do things against your will (including risking of your life and outright slavery) and of course romance. I didn't expect it, but I actually ended up enjoying the story. (You get to see most of the story from the 3rd person perspective, but you still hear the story including the protagonist's thoughts from the 1st person perspective.) The art and the music also deserve praise. The game has
10
possible endings and a nice collection of CGs. The
four
main characters are interesting and each one of them is crazy in his own unique way (One is
an alcoholic
, one is obsessed with
money
, one
seems to be nice but might end up enslaving you due to jealousy
, one acts
by the law of the strongest and orders you around while threatening to kill you if you don't obey
). I played the game until I unlocked everything and understood the whole structure of decisions, which took approximately 40 hours. H-scenes can be also included by applying an official H-patch, but prepare to be
slightly disappointed due to a very low amount of text in the H-scenes
. Background of the story (insignificant spoilers, I'm not even going to black the section out): The story takes place in a fabulous world with magic and magical creatures. Although magic seems to be rare and some people still don't believe in it's existence. There are at least two major political regions: One of the regions is a xenophobic dictatorial empire brutally ruled by an iron fist (insurgency of poor population in times of hardship is considered a high treason and leads to executions). Magical creatures don't have equal rights compared to ordinary people. The xenophobia towards magical creatures and witchcraft is especially strong amongst peasants. Other classes of population seems to be a little bit more tolerant towards magic and even have a small amount of magical "blood in their veins". The other region is a significantly more liberal and more tolerant union of kingdoms. The world outside doesn't know mutch about the union. Many people and magical creatures seems to escape from the empire and migrate to the union, but they rarely return. The actual story doesn't take place in the kingdoms and not in the empire (or at least not the the cities of the empire), but in the wilderness. How the story begins (bigger spoilers, but not very big spoilers):
Two former childhood friends are travelling to the empire's capital city. One of them is forced to move to the capital against his will to live under surveillance for a crime of feeding some starving insurgent peasants comitted by his father. The other one is loyal to the empire and is supposed to keep his former friend under captivity. Surprised by an extraordinary cold weather they are forced to seek shelter in a solitary house in order to survive. Soon they are forced to help strangers by risking their lives against their own will. (Or at least the first traveller is.)
So I tried this out and it is a little confusing getting into. But when you get past that it was fun seeing where the narrative went. I am not sure where I was supposed to go or what I was supposed to do but really the game is worth playing through more than once to see what kinds of endings you can get. You will die, but don't be discouraged because I think that is common. I died a lot....lol

IMHO a good v.n. has choices that matter and that have hints in the story to help you make good choices. Or the use of common sense will get you a good result. If all you can do is flip a coin and guess when you have to make a choice or use a walk through that is not a good v.n. This v.n. had me flipping a coin constantly. Some v.n.'s seem to believe that you put choices in just to have choices. It also had some translation errors that left me unsure what they were trying to say. Also a negative is that the main character drinks too much. I find it hard to worry about someone who prepares for a dangerous battle by getting drunk. On the positive side the art is fine. The relationship between the m.c. and Lin was interesting. The other relationships seemed rushed but how does one judge for fantasy characters? It is not a terrible v.n. but I will never get my 4 hours back and 3 endings was enough for me but their are more.

Hello Steam user who is wondering if this little visual novel is worth their time. I'm going to tell you right now that the answer is yes especially especially considering that it has a nice winter wonderland theme to match with the holidays. Pros – Art, the character designs specifically. I feel like everyone's designs were uniquely suited for their characters, like for instance Mei's mischievous smile or Kang's smug grin felt distinctly their own that if you put those expressions on another character it would just look wrong. Also speaking of distinctive, I feel like I haven't seen these character designs before or at least not these

    exact

character designs before. Yes that seems a bit like an overstatement by hear me out. The designs are polished enough so it doesn't look like deviant art amateur hour garbage but not so polished that they give off the generic professional glam look that I tend to see with a lot more big-budget visual novels. It feels unique to this game and that's something I appreciate even if the art isn't dropdead gorgeous. – The characters. I would nearly appreciate the character designs as well as I do if I didn't like the characters themselves but thankfully the characters do match up to their designs. Of our four main characters, Kang and the lovely werewolf Shan were definitely my favorites but I also appreciated Lin's

    money fetish

    stick and

    Mei's thinly veiled selfish attitude

. These characters felt like characters which is more than I can say for some visual novels where literally

    nobody

has a personality or has the most bare-bones basic personality that you could get off a cardboard box. Everybody had both their strengths and their weaknesses for instance, Kang is a cynical asshat with a serious drinking problem but that doesn't mean he doesn't care about his childhood friend Lin or his father and (depending on your choices, the other two girls problems as well) I wouldn't necessarily call him the greatest person out there but I wouldn't say he's a bad person which is pretty much the sentiment I have for the other characters as well they have their issues but they're not inherently bad people. They'll kinda live in a gray area and most people in real life live there so I definitely appreciated that aspect of the game. – The endings. I like how this game definitely had a variety of endings as opposed to all of them feeling sane the same like I've seen some visual novels have. The game has ten endings in every ending feels distinctly different. Naturally some of them are the happily ever after endings and of course there are a few endings where you die but interestingly, one of the

    worst

ending in the entire game isn't even an ending where you die... I'm not gonna spoil it but let's just say it's a emotional got wrenching ending the say the least. Cons – price. Okay this is probably get to be the biggest complaint but for how long this game actually takes (I think I completed all the endings in four hours though I will admit I was using the skip button after my first initial run) the prices a little steep. – the music. Okay I actually liked the music. The reason of putting it on the cons list though is because I feel like it was missed used in a few places. Like during this one scene where

Mei is really mad at you for explaining her plan for the crystals to Shan what's playing is this bombastic music that's completely distracting when it should of been something more somber or emotion filled music since this is a pinnacle choice in the game aim especially if your aiming for one of her endings.

There are other places where this happens but this one was the most glaring. Neutral – the story. It's not a bad story but I wouldn't call it revolutionary either. Fairly standard little fantasy romp with monster fights, hints of prejudice and magic but not that all things considered. Anyway, with all things considered I think I will recommend the game, for the art and characters if nothing else. Though I will say it's probably best to get it on a sale. At first I actually didn't really know exactly where it was going to go because I first bought this game back in June and didn't actually play it until now but once I was about halfway through it I kind of figured out where was going but that's not necessarily a bad thing. I think with a little bit more polish in time I think the story could've been really great and I like the background details on the world. I think the game would've definitely benefited more if there had just been a little bit more world building or even if it was just a bit longer but as it is now it's definitely not terrible. Not every story has to be a suspense filled twist fast.

    Overview

Visual Novel in a fantasy-medieval-like setting where you play as the male protagonist Kang, that is being taken back to the Capital by the childhood friend-now-soldier Lin for the trial of your Father who was captured aiding people, but unknowingly rebels.

    Art Style and Sound

Art style anime-to-comic like, with a very beautiful design to it, with varied character expression changes. Great tracks threw out the game, very ear-pleasing and recognizable, specially if you player any medieval fantasy games ever. No sound for the characters.

    Story

Story is pretty well written, engaging, the humor is pretty fantastic, especially Lin. The game does have Hentei-sex in it but this is where the game has a huge flaw to it that although does not take away from the story, how cool is it, and the fact it is recommend, is out of place enough that is worth mentioning: The sex in this game, saved from the bathroom peeping scene and the ending i got, MAKES absolutely no sense at all and honestly shoudn't even be in it! Most of the hentai-sex scenes happen out of complete nowhere, making zero sense in the story, and is forgotten by the characters the second it happens like the everyone has sex-amnesia or something. It's not romantic or hot, it's pointless, unnecessary and out of place. It's aggravating because the story is GREAT enough to stand on it's own feet, so it is super unnesessary to put hentai randomly just to put it! If it ain't intagrated into the story, where it is not only part of it, but it's consequences lingering with the characters, also should be a choice to them (yes they happen whether you want it or not). My advice to the developers is that you don't need to put hentai in your games if your not integrating into the setting and story. You writing and story settings are great enough to stand on it's own without it! if you you wanna put it in (there a pun here somewhere) integrating to the story, awesome, it'll make the game more intersting and more adult. but putting them they way you did it here it makes the game actually look childish, like a kid trying to hide porn from it's parents.

    Gameplay

Gameplay wise it plays like your regular VN model. the UI is pretty nice, helps the setting of the game.

    Verdict

+ Very intersting setting and Fantasy like story, with intersting characters and very funny and cool humor moments! + Choices in the game, with 10 different ending. More choices in the course of the game would be nice, but honestly no complaints here. the game branches out nicely. + I love the humor! in my view humor something hard to accomplish, because if you don't have the knack to it, instead of funny, becomes cringy, which is not the case for this developer. A LOT of funny stuff greatly done! - Aside from the aformentioned peeping scene and the ending (the one i got on my playthrough), where are the only situations the make some sense, the hentai is pointeless, childish and out of place, not tying into the story whatsoever!

    YES, RECOMMENDED

just ignore the pointless throwng in hentai, and you can enjoy a cool, intersting and funny story.

The dialogue is actually kind of fun to read. The relationships between characters are very amusing and create a lot of interesting dynamics between them. Art is stellar and music fits in for the most part. Ahhhh. Some of these plotlines make little to no sense. You can propose to one girl and still end up with someone else because you picked more choices that aligned with her? There's a lot of things that don't add up. The H-scenes are garbage. If you're going to add H-scenes, at least make them part of the story and provide context behind it. Instead, it's sprinkled throughout the entire novel with the entire dialogue being "..." Like, just don't do it at all if that's all that you're going to provide. It just cheapens the interesting parts of these characters and adds no sort of depth into their relationships aside from "oh hey look guys we touched each other". It's overall fine but just don't buy it for full price.

Treasure Of A Blizzard Length: Very Short (<5 Hours) Number of Routes: 1 Choices: Yes Failure Possible: Yes (apparently in 2 of the endings) Characters: Decent Progression: Alright (abit slow at first) Soundtrack: Pretty Good Achievement Difficulty: 0 Additional Thoughts: A bit slow in the start and full of grammar issues but still rather good.
