About the Game

Experience a true workhorse of the LNER, the authentic and advanced LNER V2 locomotive from Just Trains!

Introduced in 1936, the LNER Class V2 was based on the well-known Class A1/A3 pacific locomotives, albeit with smaller driving wheels, reduced boiler length and a unique 2-6-2 wheel arrangement. A total of 184 were built and their versatility saw them put to use on fast freights and express passenger services.

All were withdrawn in the 1960s with only one preserved example, but the class also lives in Train Simulator thanks to Just Trains’ efforts to recreate the V2 to true authentic detail.

    A Great Loco! Not only does it come with the JT Mk1 Coaches and MatrixTrains Gresleys as standard. But also contains AI locos in the form of the JT A4's and Standard 5MT's for those wanting to add something extra for AI Traffic to the Weardale and Teeside and other routes like the S&D map. Despite a glitch when starting up telling you to switch to intermediate controls you CAN drive this loco with Simple Controls. Overall a good buy, if you're looking for some Eastern Stock with a little extra you can toy with on other routes I recommend this.

    Really like this DLC, super well made and very high quality. Snapped it right up morning of release. I think my favorite part has got to be the sound. As an American, I'm not used to tiny locomotives with ridiculous stack talk. This thing really barks! I ran it through a tunnel and the echo/reverb was incredible. Would absolutely recommend.

    Bought from Steam but later found out it does not come with as many scenarios as the one direct from Just Trains website. It only has the Weardale line ones. Tried "Picking up the goods" scenario first and found the points would not set themselves to get back to some trucks that were uncoupled at the platform. Tried it a few times but seem to get to the same point then it is impossible to progress. If I find out I am doing something wrong I will update the review. On a positive not the train seems more realistic to drive than the the standard ones. Update: Just Trains have patched the DLC to fix the issue but Steam have not updated the module to include the patch yet.

    I would love to give this a good rating, and I would, if I could haul trains. I got this engine for by b-day back in apirl, when I didn't know there was a "pro range." More recently, I found out about the manuel. Half an Hour later I got the engine to work. But when I try to load a train (It works light engine) it says, "Error: Error occurred while loading this QuickDrive." If someone knows how to fix this, please let me know.

    First, why this Loco DLC entry route category route. Two, Teak Coaches from MatrixTrains cant be use in QuickDrive only spawn as Ai when play scenario. Three,, Size this DLC after install 5Gb. Good for me only Mk1 Coaches from Just Train with many livery and new sound bogie include passenger view.

    I had to contact the main developers to get some assets that were missing from the initial download. But lemme tell ya it was totally worth the effort, the loco is amazing to drive. The scenarios are buggy and I think only two(?) of them work, but they're still pretty damn good scenarios. Being careful with the brakes is something that's not simulated well in railworks, and I must admit I myself found myself missing alot of stops because I overestimated the brakes on this locomotive. overall 7/10.

    Bought from Steam but later found out it does not come with as many scenarios as the one direct from Just Trains website. It only has the Weardale line ones. Tried "Picking up the goods" scenario first and found the points would not set themselves to get back to some trucks that were uncoupled at the platform. Tried it a few times but seem to get to the same point then it is impossible to progress. If I find out I am doing something wrong I will update the review. On a positive not the train seems more realistic to drive than the the standard ones. Update: Just Trains have patched the DLC to fix the issue but Steam have not updated the module to include the patch yet.

    I would love to give this a good rating, and I would, if I could haul trains. I got this engine for by b-day back in apirl, when I didn't know there was a "pro range." More recently, I found out about the manuel. Half an Hour later I got the engine to work. But when I try to load a train (It works light engine) it says, "Error: Error occurred while loading this QuickDrive." If someone knows how to fix this, please let me know.
