60 Minutes & up.

Zombicide

is a collaborative board game in which players take the role of a survivor – each with unique abilities – and harness both their skills and the power of teamwork against the hordes of unthinking undead! Using unique and clever mechanics, Zombicide is designed as a fully cooperative game where no player has to play as the zombies.

Each player controls between one (for 6 players) and four (solo game) survivors, humans trapped in a zombie-infested town. In fact, “survivors” quickly change to “hunters” to smash zombies through and through. However, the team must constantly maintain a balance between survival and slaughter, for as the zombicide continues, the Danger Level increases, and the infected grow in numbers. Any misstep can turn to disaster.

Zombicide is a fun and easy game with cool miniatures in an archetypical, popular and comics-inspired environment. Ambiance is constantly balanced between “beat’em up” and “survival horror” as survivors keep switching from prey to predators. Humor and gloom happily marry in a zombie-fest.

I was on the fence of buying Tabletop Simulator for a long time. Until today. I bought a four-pack and the Zombicide DLC so I can play the game with my family who live on the other side of the continent. We used to play together a _lot_ over the holidays when I visit. This DLC was my first time playing Tabletop Simulator, but man, the experience was absolutely fantastic. I love the organization of all the pieces and the high resolution of all the manuals and FAQ booklets are an awesome addition. They also did a great job with all the minis and it is super easy to set up a board. I'll definitely be buying the other seasons of Zombicide if/when they come out.

Fantastic and easy to use. This DLC is the digital version of the Zombicide base game. Scenarios and tokens snap to the board with an easy click. All scenarios in the base game are ready to launch, no assembly of tiles required (unless you build your custom campaigns). If you're scared of dropping $60-100 on the physical copy, you can't go wrong with the price here. A must own if you're a fan of zombicide.

One of the better Zombie themed board games. Don’t got any friends in real life? don’t worry you can find some online and play with them! If you want to play a coop board game with zombies and where everyone has his own survivor, then this game is the one to try! Find weapons, kill zombies. The more zombies you kill, the more skilled you get; the more skilled you get, the more zombies appear. Best of all when you're done with the missions that comes with the game you can go to their website and download over 30+ missions! Everything from 2 players to 6 player! Just remember don’t let the zombies eat your brains!

As an owner of the Original Zombicide Board game i can say this is worth the buy as far as being able to play and learn the game. Ive see one negative review complaing about lack of automation and how long it takes to set up, but my guess is they were not familiar with TS and how everything works. It automates setup enough so that it makes it alot faster and easier to set up any game board. PLUS im pretty sure its open to custom layouts and scnarios if one chooses. The overall look of the figures as well as the back drop you play the game in is nice as well PROS: Its a fun game great with friends Easy to setup assuming you understand how TS works CONS: would be nice if the figure models were slightly animated (ive seen Free workshop games like heroquest that have animated models) it would be neat to have a tablet for each player that actually runs the APP that you can download for your phone to automate attacking and leveling.

I bought TTS and this game together during the Steam sale, and figuring this game out was my first experience with TTS, so I hope my review is useful to others in the same boat. My first 45 minutes with Zombicide were infuriating, since I was trying to learn the controls for TTS and the rules for Zombicide at the same time. My girlfriend and I fumbled around, trying to figure out how to open the manual (press number keys), how to zoom on the manual (hover mouse and hold alt), what the hell to do with the map (page 11), how to unfreeze the character sheets (F) etc etc. The rulebook hasn't been adapted to TTS, there's no tutorial, and their gizmotron implementation is completely half-assed (more on that later), so the initial learning curve was like a cliff and for a while I was beginning to regret the purchase. Luckily, after getting over that first plateau you're basically rolling down a gentle incline. TTS starts to make sense and the Zombicide mechanics start to fall into place. It's definitely worth the first 30 - 60 minutes of raging at your monitor to figure out how this works.
Zombicide
Zombicide's mechanics are interesting and unique (afaik, I don't play massive numbers of tabletop games), and the cooperative nature of the game is awesome and a breath of fresh air for anyone who's sick of 99% of tabletop games being competitive (and it sure is nice to have another 6-player co-op game besides Killing Floor and Contagion on Steam). The quality of the presentation is high - detailed models, snazzy art on the cards and other playing materials, etc etc. Everything looks pristine even when you zoom way in on it.
TTS-specific
Keep in mind you're purchasing a board game, not a video game. There is very little automation - the maps are preassembled (a blessing if you hate putting map tiles together), some of the key pieces start prearranged on the table, you can use the gizmotron to (partially) enable guide markers on the map, and certain pieces snap into place (for example, equipment cards snap onto the card slots on the character sheets). To put it another way, if you already own the Zombicide board game, here's what you would get out of this TTS DLC: the ability to play online, some convenience features for setup, and the ability to save your game. Well, another nice feature is that you can shuffle a deck of cards instantly by pressing a button, and the cards will never wear out or get food stains on them. There is no tutorial, no "how to play this game in TTS", so it really helps to already have some experience with TTS so that you know how to manipulate the various cards, books, and pieces that make up the game. As mentioned, the gizmotron implementation is pretty half-assed. Not all of the important spaces on the map are marked with the gizmotron - it leaves out the starting zone for chrissakes. Some, but not all, of areas marked by the gizmotron include snapping - doors and spawn markers snap, but actual zombie figures do not snap. Is that a huge deal? No, but it's confusing at first ("why isn't this snapping? is this the wrong piece?")

Full Disclosure: Big Zombicide boardgame fan here :) So seeing it available as a DLC for TTS was a no-brainer (ha ha). This is a wonderful representation of the core, base boardgame (known as "Season One"). It is well scripted with a clickable map selector in the middle of the table for the 11 missions that come with the core game, and the "Gizmo-Tron 9000" on the side that pastes the setup points on each of the 11 maps. Setting up a game is so much easier and faster than with the physical box! (See my one caveat at the end, though.) Zombicide itself is a solo or co-op board game that reminds me very much of things like the Aliens boardgame from the 80's, in that it has the players taking on the role of a group of survivors of the zombie apocalypse, and the (easy) game rules control the zombies. Equipment and vehicles can be found about the board, represented by cards, and zombies spawn in based on card draws as well. Dice rolls resolve combat. Each survivor has a set of skills and an experience bar that moves up with each zombie killed or objective taken. As each survivor gains experience they get to add extra skills to their abilities, but it also causes more and harder zombes to spawn in an ever escalating power struggle. The models for the survivors and zombies are well done, and best of all I don't have to paint these :) There is an infinite amount of zombie models in the box, as well as doors, vehicles, spawn markers, map sections, etc., so that making your own scenarios and layouts is a piece of cake once you've mastered the 11 that come with the game. This is a very worthy purchase if you like Zombicide or just zombie/co-op/solo games in general. $10 is a very cheap introduction to the Zombicide game, as the boxed games in the series go for around $60 each, with the expansions $20 to $30. I would very much like to see futher DLC for this with the additional expansions and sets. My only caveat is that I would recommend that someone was fairly up to speed with TableTop Sim before playing, and that there was a "cheat sheet" on the table explaining how to right-click objects like the rule book and map to set their "states", as it is not intuitive and took us a while to figure out (my group built our first scenario out of the tiles in the box, as we didn't realize that setting the state of the map description in the center of the table would auto arrange the tiles for us).

Beautifully rendered version of Zombicide core game. There are no add ons (currently) for any further expansions of the game such as Season 2 or KS exclusive heroes. This is just the version from the core box! That said, it works great. You can allow it to set up any of the scenerios from the core game's book easily. Movement of models, tokens, etc. is extremely simple. I've hosted six games so far with little to no glitching viewable to anyone (up to six) playing. The fact that only one person needs to have bought the DLC for the entire group to enjoy is pretty amazing! I do hope that they bring out further Seasons and expansions to play with on TTS, though.

Been playing this for few missions now with 3+ Friends. Would definitely recommend. The Rules are fairly easy. Scripts are working fine. Game is fun all around. Only cons is the EXP-markers are a bit fiddly to manage. Hope further expansions will be relased. Edit: Definitely check out the scripted version in the workshop. You still need the DLC but it will make your life much easier. Plus it includes all expansions and addons.

This is best played if you have the support app found on google play. Using the app eliminates a lot of dragging and dropping of cards and rolling of dice. The killing of zombies and keeping track of kills is made much easier. I like the game much more using the app.

I think this zombicide is better than the some free mods i found in the workshop. The scripted map setup thing is nice, and I really like the high quality models and scans. BUT! I spent apprx. 6 hours troubleshooting before I could get this to work with friends. My review was negative, because I already gave up on it. My issue was that whenever a friend would join, they would get an error that they don't own the dlc - Cannot load. Very annoying and I found no official solution even though many others had this problem before me. The ridiculous solution: Set your regional date format to USA in your OS. Yes, I am serious.

Awesome DLC. Very nicely made with great little touches, details and overall package. Works perfectly in MP and I like the fact that onlyone person needs to own the addon. I hope the expansion packs will also be released to extend the playtime oppertunities.
