Mr. Game!

is a modern twist on the classic family roll-and-move party board game. Like most games, you start at point A and have to get to point B before your adversaries. But in Mr. Game!, point B can change at any moment, making it a chaotic and unpredictable rat-race to the ever-changing finish.

To add fuel to the fire, the rules of the game are different every time you play! How come? Because one player at the table will take up the mantle of "Mr. Game," an arbitrator who has the final say on decisions whenever the rules of the game come into question. The rules of the game come into question a lot - by design! That means Mr. Game has free license to create and clarify rules at his or her leisure, making no two games of Mr. Game! ever exactly the same.

Unfair, you say? Don't worry - Mr. Game is bound by an official code of conduct:

• All players are responsible for interpreting the rules of the game, but Mr. Game makes the final decisions.

• All rules Mr. Game creates must apply to all players equally, themselves included.

• If Mr. Game breaks a rule or attempts to chance a decision they already made, the other players may revolt and forcibly replace them.

• After the game ends, players choose a new Mr. Game for the next game. Any decisions made by the previous Mr. Game no longer need to be enforced.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. It says Mr. Game can be "impeached" and replaced. How does that process work?

A. Might I suggest flipping the table...

Q. Have you ever seen a Mr. Game get impeached?

A. Once. He was framed, honestly. But it did happen. That's in 3 years of designing, developing, and testing. Not a bad record.

Q. How does the goal change?

A. There are 5 cards in the deck that change the goal to a random number. 4 of the cards are Actions, meaning they must be played when drawn. 1 is a Badge, which means you can lie in wait and play it when the moment is right.

Q. This sounds like a board game version of Calvinball.

A. Bingo!

I initially thought that a game like Mr. Game would be impossible to bring to Tabletop Simulator. Boy was I wrong. This fantastic game translates well with TTS's built-in voice chat. Mr. Game has simple enough rules for children, but enough interpretation to make a room full of adults have a lot of fun. And how does that interpretation work? Someone is Mr. Game every game, and it is their job to translate the purposely vaguely written rules. Have fun!

So after a few games of this, I finally got the chance to actually be Mr. Game. I wanted to do something disruptive, so when someone landed on a spider-web space, I made a rule that he could still move, but anyone he touched would also get stuck to that space. The game then changed drastically - people weren't even trying to get to the goal anymore, they were just running from the rapidly-growing blob of other players. It was pretty difficult, because every additional player who got stuck meant another dice-roll for the blob, and every time they landed on a space they all drew a card. Eventually, everyone was on the blob and then a civil war broke out - some members of the blob wanted to win the game as a team, but others wanted to win individually, so they did everything they could to sabotage their efforts. It ended in tears, heartache, and betrayal. 10/10 experience, would make that janky rule again.

The board looks simple; for the game itself it's quite literally a create your own board game

There are a few things set in stone, but people will look the other way if you change even the fundamental mechanics of the game as long as you're not trying to set yourself up in a super advantageous position; then you might be impeached and replaced during the course of the game [which really won't happen unless you're being a super jerk with the rules, kek, haven't had it seriously happen yet.] This game has so much potential, and the devs are great, and this is solidly one of the if not the best board game on TTS so far, don't let the simple exterior fool you, get experienced players as Mr. Game and you'll have a blast!

A game that have no rules basically and MR. GAME Guy, can modify to any rules he wants to.. It's really competitive since anyone wants to be this MR.GAME Guy, so after it was chosen, the game start and ohhhh boy... Prepare to have friends betraying each other, because in this game you can take 30 minutes to finish or have 2 hours it really depends how this ******* MR. GAME will apply the rules. Fun game, but every MR. GAME, needs to die in the majority of the circumstances.
