Why would you include the M3 grease gun in a DLC literally called "Silent warfare weapons pack" and not provide it with an attached silencer?

    This weapon pack adds 3 weapons to Sniper Elite 4, two returning weapons from SE3, and one that is new to the series (and could do with more attention over all in games). These weapons are the M3 Grease Gun, the Semi-Auto HDM, and the DeLisle Carbine. Lets run them each down. The Grease Gun, one of the two returning weapons, is functionally similar to the Thompson. However, the M3 trades out over all base accuracy and rate of fire for an increased base range. So while you may be able to drop targets faster with the Thompson, you can drop them at farther ranges with the Grease Gun. The Semi Auto HDM is the second returning weapon to Sniper Elite. It is the only other permanently suppresed pistol that takes standard ammo, meaning it is a worthy contender to the Welrod if you wish to take out targets at close range quietly. However, the HDM plays very much differently. It has a higher mag capacity than the Welrod, 10 rounds over 8, a slightly higher muzzle velocity, slightly higher recoil dampening, as well as a much higher base range. However, the Welrod can deal more damage and boasts better accuracy, so keep that in mind. However, the HDM boasts one major victory that can make it a go to weapon, vastly improved fire rate, as the HDM is a semi auto pistol, and the Welrod must be cycled after each shot. Ultimetly, the choice of if you want improved fire rate over accuracy and power is what should be the deciding factor to you. And now, the meat of the pack. The new rifle to the series, the DeLisle Carbine. A British (I believe? Feel free to correct me if I am wrong) bolt action carbine that is boasts a supressor as the barrel. Which will obviously be tempting. The ability to fire silently with standard rifle ammo in the game. Well, this silent power comes at a cost. You see, unlike the other rifles, the DeLisle does not fire standard rifle rounds, it instead is loads .45 ACP from a mag. Meaning this rifle is a close range killer. How close of a range? Well, this rifle boasts the worst damage out of all rifles, as well as the worst muzzle velocity. It's standard zoom ranges from 2x up to 4x. However, the rifle reloads fast (due to the mag), has the second highest ammo capacity (7 rounds, Gewher 43 and Lee Enfield No. 4 takes it with 10), a slightly faster rate of fire, a slighly higher stability, and massive recoil dampening, due to the pistol rounds. So, it's not all bad, as you can easily pick off targets in silence with out sound masking, or worring about finding suppressed rifle rounds. And in the right hands, namely those with quite the experience in SE games, or at least 4, the DeLisle can be a force to be reckoned with.

    While i am glad to finally be able to use the Delisle and HDM in missions i cant help but notice that there is a covert weapon that is not in the game that was used more than any other silenced weapon in WWII. The Sten Mk2(s) was a integerally supressed model of the Sten that was used by many comando groups.

    A good price for 3 new weapons. DLC isn't overpriced at all - I think it's just right. The Delisle carbine is a great addition - it means you no longer have to waste inventory slots taking suppressed ammo, or spend long amounts of time scavenging it from the environment. Also - it means your co-op buddy can rely on you always having suppressed ammo. The HDM pistol is meh - no power, and its inaccurate. You're better off using a suppressed M1911. Grease gun is ok - though I feel they should have put the silenced sten gun in this pack instead... its called a silent warfare pack. TL;DR Be more like a commando in this sensibly priced dlc containing 3 new weapons.

    Having a silenced sniper rifle means you can get through the game levels quicker, no more having to wait for or create sound masking. I guess this is not good for some people but for me it's perfect.

    I figured I'd go over how the weapons perform to help people decide if they want to buy the pack or not. Delisle Carbine: Probably the main reason most people buy the pack. This sniper is completely silent, eliminating the need for suppressed ammunition and like the Welrod, isn't actually capable of using it. That said however, you pay a heavy price for silence, as nearly everything else about the gun is awful. It's zoom is the lowest of all snipers, it has a lot of bullet drop and it's damage is also the lowest of all snipers. You absolutely need to be hitting head shots with it but due to the zoom and bullet drop, this is easier said than done. If you're looking for a good long range sniper, this isn't it. Anything beyond 200M is going to be difficult to hit. Overall, it feels pretty balanced given you're completely silent when firing but if you were hoping this gun would be incredibly powerful, you'll be disappointed. Grease Gun: The worst gun of the three. The gun isn't specifically bad but it doesn't do anything different from any of the other submachine guns either. In fact, the Thompson is better than it in every way save for having slightly less range. Overall a disappointment HDM: Surprisingly the most powerful weapon of the three. This thing is hands down amazing. It's flat out better than the Welrod before upgrades and compared to a fully upgraded Welrod, it's only got slightly worse damage and range. It completely makes up for this however with it's fire rate, which is fast enough that you can easily kill two enemies in quick succession or make a followup shot if you miss, something the Welrod struggles to do. If you want to sneak around silently killing everyone, this is the gun for you. In fact, you can do an entire mission quite easily only using this gun. Overall, the Grease gun is an odd inclusion and it seems like it may have been added just to justify charging $4 for the pack but despite that, I think it's a good buy. Even if you never use the Grease gun, you're getting a very unique sniper and a very powerful pistol and $4 is pretty cheap considering how much gun packs cost in other games.

    I think the De Lisle Carbine was an odd choice for this game. For those who don't know, the De Lisle is chambered in .45 ACP (The same caliber as the M1911 pistol, and Thompson SMG), they even get the magazine size correct on the gun itself. However, while using the rifle, when you get a kill cam, the .45 slug seems to magically transform into a rifle bullet. Chock it up to limitations in the engine, it's not a big deal, just a strange choice on the developer's part. This DLC is good though, extremely useful in game.

    The most notable weapon in this DLC is the Delisle Carbine: A sniper rifle with a built- in suppressor. The other two being the HDM pistol and the Grease gun, so that's 3 weapons total. I would rather earn these weapons instead of paying an additional $4 dollars, but whatever. You can have the most fun using the Delisle Carbine. However, the carbine is the weakest in the game, so you will have to take your shots carefully and aim for the head of your enemies. Other than that, it's a good DLC for Sniper Elite 4

    Honestly, it's a great pack. While I don't tend to use the M3, I have the DeLisle Carbine fully upgraded, but I don't find it as fun to use and think of it more as a crutch. It is very helpful as the integral suppressor keeps your shots silent, but has very low muzzle velocity and atrocious zoom and damage. The HDM is quite low damage too, but that doesn't really matter as you'll be going for headshots. Worst comes to worst, you can mag dump on an enemy if you really need to. Great for beginners, helps you along the way until you get the 3 item slots and unlock suppressed ammo.

    TL;DR — the pistol (HDM) is the best option for any of your sidearms by far + the option to equip a silenced rifle is indescribably beneficial and will make your life a lot easier If you're looking to buy Sniper Elite 4, this pack is a must-have add-on. One thing you'll notice fairly quickly, particularly in the campaign and overwatch missions, is that any method(s) to silence or muffle the sound of your weaponry can be absolutely critical to your success. When you find yourself without proper 'set-up' like the occasional plane flying overhead or a noisy generator covering your fire, you'll immediately need to begin assessing the situation in a completely different manner than someone else who may carry suppressed ammunition. The rifle and the machine gun are one thing, but the HDM pistol is so undeniably safe and reliable that you'll likely find yourself using this trusty sidearm as much as your actual primary weapon, if not more often at times. The pistol is very versatile and the perfect weapon to fall back on when you're cornered or about to be seen. Being the only real silenced tertiary weapon ((we don't talk about the Welrod)) and with suppressed rifle shots being very limited, that thing is unmatched. Pick off your enemies slowly, shoot an explosive in the distance, create some other distraction— whatever. The HDM will never fail you if you utilize it well when needed. The Delisle Carbine Rifle & Grease Gun are moreso what you would probably expect from a shooter like this; the wondrous boon of natural stealth at the cost of damage output and/or accuracy, range, etc. The HDM pistol should not be undermined though that this is ridiculous {SE4 gull game review will be posted at some point in the future}

Delisle Carbine is the ONLY sniper rifle in the game that have build in silencer and that makes it the best weapon for higher difficulties where you really really really don’t want to be ever detected or you will be killed. The machine gun that comes with this DLC does not have a silencer but that would only be an overkill in my opinion as having gun and a rifle from this DLC will mean you will never ever need any other weapon or ever use machine gun. In fact I had to do a manual save to farm some kills with machine gun for the achievements after I understand that I will never use any of them because I have gun and sniper rifle with silencers. Overall score 7/10
