Plan Z is a true-to-life post-apocalyptic zombie survival game that includes an imminent nuclear meltdown, which shapes your every decision in the game to survive. Players will follow Gary Gannon from his home city of Green Bay, WI on his journey across a zombie-infested country to reach the west coast, where his father resides. As in a real-life situation with un-manned nuclear plants, Gary knows he only has so many days to reach his father with his young daughter in tow, which many post-apocalyptic zombie games never address. Along the way, he must make harrowing decisions to evade zombies, trust other survivors, and redeem himself in the eyes of his daughter, whom he neglected her entire life. As a player, you can see Gary’s viewpoint from a multitude of decisions and maybe learn some survival skills. Will you survive in this new world? What’s your plan?

Game Features:

Intricate story line: Plan Z’s story is rich with original and realistically in-depth zombie related elements. Zombie related pseudo sciences are intelligently explored instead of just going with the simple unexplained zombie outbreaks and implausible zombie behaviors. Plan Z’s story also focuses on non-zombie characters as well. Interesting character developments, plot twists, and character relationships will keep players glued to the game. Zombies will also evolve throughout the upcoming chapters.

Interactivity: Plan Z is a choose your own adventure style game. Throughout the Plan Z game, players will have to make decisions that will directly affect the path of the game. Some choices will affect the game in minor aspects, while other choices will have dramatic effects on the game. Plan Z’s branching story line aims to add replay value to the game so players can get a much more enjoyable playing experience.

Shooter: Plan Z has first person shooter elements. Unlike many choose your own adventure games, Plan Z offers players the ability battle zombies and zombie bosses.

Puzzles: Plan Z offers mini puzzles that will challenge players and at the same time add to the story. This offers players a chance to explore and be a part of Plan Z’s environment and progress the story line.

Zombie Easter Eggs: Being avid fans of the zombie genre, we added several popular zombie related Easter Eggs in this chapter and plan to do more in future chapters. See if you can recognize them all.

It's only 79p right? How bad can it be? Wow, plays like some sort of Alpha and even 79p feels like a rip-off!

https://youtu.be/eeij7nH1puE Interesting concept and the price is nice, but the game has too many drawbacks to really recommend. First is the graphics and animations. For some reason the developers have tried to go for a faux cell shading effect with an awful photoshop cartoon filter. This makes the already old looking graphics even worse. And the animations have so far all been uniformly bad. And finally the pacing of the game. It shambles along with less pace than your average undead, and from what I have played so far, there is very little actual interaction in the game other than some limited conversation choices and a couple of 'action' events. I really could not get invested in the game at all, but I will try to play on for a while and see if it picks up. However based on my play so far I doubt I will be getting chapter 2 if it ever appears on steam unless the developers make some changes to the pacing and improve the graphics somewhat. UPDATE: Okay I managed to make it to the end of the game, and sadly it actually gets wose. Cumbersome controls and camera angles combined with the slow plodding nature of the game just add to the frustrations of navigating. Item hitboxes can be hard to trigger, and you are not allowed to interact with objects until the game allows you too. The 'crafting' mini game you use once to make a pistol. Thats it. The live action sections are (mercifully) short, but the awful zombie hitboxes combined with skyhigh mouse sensitivity make them more frustrating than frightening. Also you camera is locked until you fire or swing once, so its not even bug free. As to the 'driving' section why even bother - it adds nothing, you just drive a preset course through an ugly empty city. Also the game directly rips off the resident eveil 2 police station for the second level - I'm not too sure capcom are going to be happy here so I'm not sure if this game will be available for long.

Well, at least you can't fault Plan Z's ambition. It's a point and click adventure, it's a visual novel, it's a driving simulator, an FPS; it's the mad ambitious stew you dreamt of making when you were thirteen years old and you still believed being a game developer was your perfect job before you learned through heartbreaking internet testimonials that it was a ninety-hour-a-week deathmarch to the grave. Of course, it doesn't do any of this well. Of course it doesn't. Look how much it costs. You spend the first five minutes of this mess watching your player character painstakingly wake up, brush his teeth, shower, get dressed and eat his breakfast, all in gluey slow motion as if you're sitting through some sort of erotic drama. The pace doesn't improve in the actual playable sections either. The point and click sections are a maddening ordeal where you're forced to pointlessly interact with objects and NPCs in an arbitrary order before being allowed to collect key items. If you want to make the cloth strips, you've got to examine your unconscious wife twice, examine the lamp, examine the sweater, grab the kitchen shears, grab the sweater and THEN combine the two in that goddamned order, as if you're recreating the painstaking scraping together of the cogs in your character's moron hutch of a skull as he fuddles his way through even the most basic of thought processes. The script and the animation are hysterical though. Can't fault the comedy. First twenty or so below: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubginOTw0kg

Fantastic game, although you cannot pass the first level. I still have to admit that the graphics are FANTASTIC for an indie developer. The edges are sharp and clean with amazing detail, the textures almost look REAL. Not even joking i thought that i was walking around. The story is gripping, Gary, talks to his wife about his wallet and then the game crashes. But those 10 minutes of gameplay, those 10 AMAZING minutes of gameplay make up for it. I will be donating so much money to this developer to make more games of this quailty. Thank you -The Amazing Atheist

For 79p I don't want to fault this game too much. It's a little silly, but silly is good sometimes! My biggest gripe is that there's no Chapter 2 - I need closure..

THE GREATEST GAME EVER! I laughed, I cried, I vomited, I ate up that vomit then I cried again. When I gazed upon the beautiful naive dumb face of my daughter and I had to hide the truth of where mommy went it broke most of my heart and some of my liver. I am sure I will never feel anything again after experiencing Plan Z. Also, zombies be scary.
