  This puts Finding Nemo to shame.. This video is a bit dark as well.. very well animated, great voice acting and very well translated to Engnlish as well... Deffentlly well worth the 3.27 (cad) , don't rent just buy... well worth the extra 1$ [spoiler] Butt I loved that fish,,, whyyyyyy!!!, try not to choke up on the ending. its burtal [/spoiler]

  Padak is beautiful and yet so cruel and sad story. The world seen through the eyes of live fish in the water tank of a sushi restaurant, who are waiting there to die and eaten by humans or other fish. While most just sit there and waiting for their end to come, 1 fish made the difference and tried to escape out of the horrible conditions and badly treated place they are living in. This movie surely has a deeper meaning, something to think about for when you order some fish next time to eat. No animal needs to die in order for me to live. And every animal wants to survive just as much as you and me do. Peace, Love & Vegan ♥

  Wow, this movie is hardcore and grim. It's definitely not for children unless you want to traumatize them for life. xD The story is actually very good, about fish who have lost all hope of life trapped in a water tank at a Sushi restaurant. While waiting for their time to die and be eaten, there is a new shine of hope as a Mackerel is thrown into the water tank and chooses to fight for her life and try to escape. I actually found a liking to the characters and found the CGI and animated musical scenes very well done. I would recommend buying this film while it's on sale, rather than renting it. It is definitely worth the sale price of $2.99 USD. :)

  Better than expected. Just make sure you realize it's a dark and depressing story. If you let children watch this, they will get nightmares so don't even think about it.

  When I watched the trailer I thought it looked so beautiful and I had to buy it and watch it. This is my first movie on Steam and Iam not disapointed. This may be animated but it's along the lines of Watership down. Don't make the mistake of buying for your kids as it is rather gruesome and gory at times. With fish getting chopped up and canibalistic fish eating out another fish's eyes. It's deep with adult themes. Don't reccomend for kids under 15 or those who are very sensitive. Such a beautifully animated film with great music and songs. Well written with very interesting characters. I love this film even though it was rather horific, brutal and very sad. The only thing I dislike is that because it's Korean you have to enable subtitles and sometimes the english subtitles flash by too quickly and I often have to go back and pause to reread parts.

  It's like Finding Nemo!...but with more gore, entrapment, death and depression! Honest reveiw: It's a good movie. Sad as hell movie, but a good one. It's funny how I'm feeling more for these CGI fish than I have in quite a long time. NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A KIDS MOVIE AT ALL. Sad, depressing, good story and characters. 10/10

  This short film is awesome, but also brutal. The fish in captivity really have that prisoner dynamic going on. I really liked the shift in animation style during the musical parts, as well. The voice-work is excellent, as is the animating (the fish actually move like fish). I've been keeping fishes as pets for most of my life, so I already have a soft spot for fishes. So I may be just a little biased when I say: watch this film, it's really great.

Issues with playback or captioning: None Price paid: $1.49 during steam summer sale Other notes: Watched in original language with English subtitles. I wasn't sure what I was getting into when I picked up this film during a sale. I just decided I wanted to see a film I hadn't so I sorted the steam videos page by top rated and picked up the highest rated film I hadn't seen. I scanned a few reviews and saw "Finding Nemo for adults" and that is an accurate albeit it joking description of what you can expect with this film. Padak is a south-korean animation Directed by Lee Dae-Hee. It follows a blue mackerel fish who is captured put into a tank at a seafood restaurant. This film is definitely not for kids. Through out the film you learn of the hierarchy of the tank and how the fish live and try to survive as long as possible. Until the blue fish they had never really thought of escaping. There is some really interesting moral boundaries pushed between the group from all sides and you get a nice amount of development with most of the characters. The animation in this is nice but where it really shines through is during the song sequences. The songs are also really catchy. This is a very interesting and somewhat thought provoking film. It is very bittersweet. There is some grotesque scenes in this film. I didn't know what sort of emotions if any this film would illicit but it is definitely worth the purchase and watch.

  I am usually not a fan of "3d animal movie" that much, since it usually What? A slapstick comedy, Pop culture comedy comedy of comedy, You name it. So I didn't expect much about this film. I was dead wrong. The film was about a fish trying to escape from the fish tank, simple as that. But stick around longer and you will discover something you may not expecting to find in a movie like this : Humility, Empathy, Existential crisis, Melodrama etc etc. Its all HERE!! And I also love how they animated the fishes, The team did fantastic job to gave these fish somewhat a very genuine emotion, And the music, surprisingly good too. I recommended you to try this film, It really not what you might expecting it to be just from glance.

  People say it's like "Finding Nemo" but I tell you this is NOT rip-off. It has it's own story and emotions tied to it. I was invested in the story, for sure, early on and the ended was spectacular in my opinion. If you do not mind gore and death being prominent in this film, I'd 100% give it a watch!

  Not for children and surprisingly not a cheap Finding Nemo ripoff. Very grim story, not only about animals but about human condition too, with strong parallels with our society, questioning what really means to be free. Very strong Pink Floyd visual vibes during some of the songs. CGI animation is ok (humans models are disgusting but I think that's at least partially intentional), while the 2D animated segments are actually very good! The original Korean voice acting is well executed too, don't be intimidated by the lack of an English dub. Heavily recommended!

  This is a really good movie and probably the only movie worth buying on steam ( since you can't buy it anywhere else ) The story is good, almost all of the characters are likable or have something intresting ( almost ), The graphics and the tone/atmosphere of the movie might not be for everyone since it looks kinda dirty or bland especially when there are humans around but i personally liked it. There are a couple of musicals ( only like 3 ). personally though the only flaw that i realized after watching the movie is the pacing, it feels like they make slim to none progress to escape but it has some surprising twists along the way that kept me interested. I hope this movie gets more attention and goes more mainstream because steam isn't gonna do this or any good movie justice. Also it's pretty graphic so don't just put your 5 year old infront of this And no this is not a finding nemo copy at all the only similarity is the fact that the fishes are stuck somewhere and want to escape, the movie's plot lines which I won't reveal give its own identity

  This movie will remind you how lucky you are to be born among the dominant race, and perhaps make you think twice about the lives lost for the meat we eat. It shows the importance for technology to succeed in being be able to grow food out of animal cells to prevent animal suffering, especially the ones that can feel pain and suffering.
