This is another wonderful & satisfying addition to the game. Since the MC’s personality can vary per route, I wanted to say I was very pleased with her characteristics in this one! She was proactive & had a great dynamic going on with Takumi. The trend of excellent BGM continues & perfectly suits the mood of sleuthing. The story went beyond just what you’d expect from having your childhood friend as a love interest, it also delve deep into the supernatural inner workings of their universe, so passing on such enlightening DLC would be a mistake. You’ll crave for more screen time with the new characters because they are just so darn intriguing!

DEC 2, 2016: Okay, so for Takumi's route now. Umm... So how did I feel about this? The only word that comes to mind is 'intense' haha. Taku is sort of a wildcard, this route was VERY dark - darker than Shinji's except I was sort of prepared for Shinji and didn't really give Taku much thought before this but...wow e_e;; And remember how I said that Shinji's was the most physical/passionare route so far? WELL THAT IS NOW OFFICIALLY A LIE..omg the number of times you just casually get together with Taku is O///O Friends with benefits anyone? lmao But it works because it fits in with his cahracter and the whole dark/bad@$$ theme of the route. To be completely honest, I didn't expect much going in because if I had to pick, Takumi is probably my least favorite of the guys (don't kill me plz, i'm sorryyy ^ ^;;). Like, i've friendzoned him in my head from day 1 so it was a tab bit awks for me (personally) to see him in this new light LOL I don't know why I had this mental image of him being this super sweet, childhood best friend, brother type character but welp O u O;; THAT SURE WENT OUT THE WINDOW!!! He's very risky and dangerous and even appears to be a bit (okay, a lot) sadistic and unhinged sometimes... like when he's fighting the vampires... (Fine, not gonna lie that part was kinda hot buuuut...) Yeah, needless to say, my mind was blown O_O Like my life was a lie, the cake was a lie, my image of Taku was a liee....

TLDR: Recommended. One of the best routes, in my opinion. Takumi is very expressive in his emotions, reactive to the MC, and overall just a very dynamic character. He'll have you wanting to hug and slap him at the same time by the end of the story. Enjoy! I don't know if this makes it to the top of the list for favorite routes so far, but it's definitely number two just after Tatsuya's route. Takumi's route has a very "PI/noir meets ninjas" kind of feel to it... as does Taku himself, haha. Takumi is the only character that the MC knows prior to the beginning of the game, so the relationship here is a bit different than with the others. At the same time, the location in which this route takes place also varies quite drastically from the other routes. Here, you won't be spending all your time high school, but on the mean streets or Chouwa and Yoru. The MC, along with the help of Takumi, is taking a more proactive stance to the situation she has found herself in and refuses to be constrained by the limits others set for her. Unfortunately, so does Takumi. How exactly, I will leave you to find out! ;) Suffice it to say, that both the MC and Takumi will be pushing it--and each other--to the limit on this branch of the story. Their chemistry and passion together is very evident, the nature of their past relationship coloring some of the issues, but it blends very well into a believable partnership. Taku is very expressive, unlike some of the other routes, so you will definitely find yourself laughing, sighing, and crying right along with the story. Just don't slap your computer screen! Only the main story is out, so his and the MC's whole story has yet to be told. Nevertheless, I think that you will be sucked in the quick pace before you know it, rooting for them both as they help each other realize that maybe what they already have is enough. *le sigh*

I've been playing Otome type of games for years now, but I rarely get my hands on gems like this (not commercial ones at least)! Each DLC has a unique story, with beautiful art and magical mystery thrown in it, that leaves you breathless and wanting for more. And it gets better with each DLC. I got to play the previous parts thanks to my friend, that recomended it, and I couldn't wait to get my hands on the latest part myself. The characters are realistic, distinctive and the story itself is emotionally engaging. Each story tells you a little bit about other main characters, just enough to pique your interest, and let you to get to know them just a little bit better (plus, I can't wait to finally find out what's up with the elusive 'mother' and her reasoning behind all of this). Takumi's route is my favourite one, though, tightly followed by Shinji's. I don't usually fall for 'childhood-friends-to-lovers' trope, but this time I fell and fell hard. I just love how gradually and slowly the relationship biulds, how they overcome and face the troubles together. I'm a sucker when it comes to tragic endings, but this time, I thanked the creators this is not the case. I couldn't bear to see the character to suffer more than he already has.. 5/5 and I just can't wait for the last route to be finally out.

Do you like dark? This was definitely one of the more intense routes in the game. I love the ninja/noir style of this story, and it fits well for a Tsubasa that decides to go outside the path Hikaru sets before her. Her poor decisions make for a good story and are understandable even if you're screaming "NO" at the game, because that can't possibly be a good idea. The danger was a refreshing take on the childhood friend trope. I will say that there were a couple of Takumi's choices that I did predict early on in the story. That did not take away from the overall adrenaline rush and enjoyment of the story though. There's definitely a reason the fandom latched on to Takumi as a rider of the Pain Train, and this does not disappoint. There is much bittersweet and beautiful in this story. So while he's not my favorite in this game, it's definitely worth a turn, especially if you like your heart wrenched. Action packed, fabulous secondary characters and a lovely return of some characters we've seen in other routes. I do just want to wrap Takumi in marshmallows and protect him forever and ever. Another fantastic turn in the best of indie otome games.

Absolutely amazing. His story had me in tears within the first few chapters and kept me captivated from the very beginning. I wish I could pay more for it; these creators deserve every bit of support they can get! The amount of work put into this is stunning, and I absolutely adore the small group working so hard on this! Having played the other routes, I can say that Takumi's route hits me closest to home, making an emotional rollercoaster fit for any reader who's looking for a ride. Both Tsubasa's and Takumi's struggles are so realistic, so HUMAN that I can't recommend this game enough. Anyone looking for a good story, you're in the right place.

Story and Characters I have to admit, this is the best character route to date. Takumi has significant character growth and shows a lot of different emotions throughout the playthrough. The main story I believe, is the strongest yet out of all the routes and takes the player in for a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Like previous character routes, I really like how most characters appear in the other story routes and add depth to the development to the world and storytelling. I also enjoy that unlike most Otome's where the answers are cookie cutter and easy to tell which are the "bad" answers, this game does not insult your intelligence and instead has more complex dialogue between the heroine and romance interests. Art/Animation Overall, animation was amazing. I have played a lot of Otome games in the past and this is one of the few that I can always remember for being visually stunning. I get lost just looking at the backgrounds and all the subtle changes in facial expressions each character shows. Sound Mystic Destinies: Serendipity of Aeons overall has an AMAZING soundtrack. I was really impressed with the music and sound effects in this game. Takumi's route in my opinion has the best music so far. The music fits the plot, characters and is so darn cool~ Of course that's Takumi approved. Enjoyment I am in euphoria at finishing Takumi's route. Takumi's story was intriguing, captivating, and thrilling at the end. It felt bittersweet when I finished and it kept me wanting more. By the end of the game you can really feel the power of the love that is shared between the heroine and Takumi. Takumi is a really well written character and with the strong plot it makes the player wanting to finish the game in one sitting. All this, with a really good soundtrack and one of the best romance routes in the game, I recommend this game because it is one of the best Otome games out right now. 10/10.

I was looking forward to this route coming out and wasn't disappointed. As expected, Takumi has a whole different feel from the others, both because he's known the main character for so long and because he's immersed in the magical world without being entirely part of it. A very human character, but with lots of tricks and depth to him! I recommend this route.

Okay, so the more I played this game the more I was intrigued by the side character Takumi. It appeared that every guy I romanced I was actually learning more about him to the point that I was eagerly anticipating Takumi's storyline and romance. *pushes away other romance-able characters* Takumi was so worth the wait. Takumi has been my favorite so far for a number of reasons: - He has an already established relationship with protagonist and it's nice that there's a guy who knew her from the big BEFORE her life took a turn. - He's a ninja with great taste in clothes. (I've enjoyed how the fashion has changed for the protag with different routes and Takumi's has the best fashion sense. Lol.) - He's such a complex character. Takumi has layers and he's not perfect *gasp.* He has stuff going on that you want to slap him for doing, but his faults do not detract from him as a person and he does have the opportunity to grow with the protagonist's help. This route has felt so very realistic for me for him and Tsubusa. And while we didn't see the other characters (Shou, Shinji, Hikaru, and Tatsuya) they weren't really relavant to his tale. -Main protagonist grows in her powers with the help of friends in a more natural way. (I felt for Shinji's route she was still waaaay behind on learning compared to the other routes. Actually, this route felt like even though she didn't have the help of certain things -trying not to drop spoilers- that she still learned the most as a sorceress from this one.) It was nice to see her learn about the magic community from Takumi -someone whose technically outside the community being human.- -The noir is powerful with this one. (And dayum Takumi's brother is hot.) - He's the most adorable cinnamon bun that you'll ever find. Would highly recommend this route. Ladies and gentlemen, he'll be a ninja and steal your heart before he even has the chance to ask if you want a ride on the back of his moped.

Ive followed all of the routes in MDSOA and Takumi is probaby one of my favourites so far. Taku himself is worth buying the DLC but the extra charcters you meet in his route are also really interesting. If youve played any of the other routes, you know that each story Aeon Studios develop is both unquie and engaging, and its the same for Takumi's route. If you havent, and your comsidering starting with Takumi, Id defintley advise you to buy it and support the game by doing so. Be preared to cry...lots.

Again a very entertaining DLC - thumbs up you guys really did an awesome job! :) I enjoyed Takumi's route on an equal level as Shinji's and I didn't expect this could happen, because I literally love Shinji :D I'm really full of expectation what Takumi's epiloge will be like.

Takumi's route felt vastly different to the other routes and characters, I appreciated how different it was. I dont want to spoil anything so I will keep it as informative yet vague enough for those who are wondering if this is a route worth taking. I believe it is you get to experience more of the world your character starts in, learn more about it, and if you're a fan of mystery this route has a bit of that flavor mixed into it. Some of my choices I made when first playing it, led to some really... bad circumstances but I was fortunate enough to have a save right before the big decision so I could go back and see the good ending all the way through as well as the bad one. There was a lot of heavy emotions tied to this as well, it felt just as heavy as Shou's route which had me in tears. I definitely recommend this around to anyone looking for anything I mentioned above, as well as to just have a good experience with a different character.

There are some spoilers in my review. Just to warn you. Having played the other three routes first, I was pretty excited to get to Takumi's route after seeing all the little hints that he likes the MC in the other routes. I'm also a sucker for the childhood friend to lover cliche. It was refreshing to have the MC note go along with the professor forcing her to choose a boy and that they focused on the MC's anger over what was done to her. My only complaints are that she kind of loses focus on her goal to find her mother and the fact they don't wrap up the situation with the death magic and why it affected her magic. I did however, really enjoy the romance and the development of Takumi's character through out the route. While he isn't my favorite character, the story is enjoyable and the noir feel is refreshing from other routes. I'd recommend giving it a try even if you're not a fan of the character because there is definitely more to enjoy beside the romance!

I'm not crying! You're crying! Wonderfully written and illustrated , It had you understanding and relating to each character in such a powerful way. Takumi is now my new favorite over Tatsuya. Please keep coming out with DLC like this one, I loved it so much. ♥
There were no CGs of kissing Takumi. Sadness..
PS. Still waiting for OST~

Well, this one might be equal or even better than Shinji’s route in terms of story telling and BGM (which was GREAT here, seriously, it was addicting). It was also pretty violent (which I loved, it gave a more mature feeling to the game), and the relationship between Takumi and Tsubasa is already there since they’re childhood friends, but it gradually changed to something more. The villain was good; nothing extraordinary, but I felt the desire of punching them, so at least to me that means that they’re playing their role right in the story. Takumi was just adorable, reminded me of Shou sometimes, but Taku can be even more cute.
The scene where you can choose “yes, he’s my boyfriend” right on the beginning, and he answers all like “I AM??” with a surprised big smile on his face… It melted my heart lol so simple yet an adorable reaction!
9/10, I highly recommend this route! Also, for some reason, every time I look at Takumi on his route, I can only think about this weird Yu-Gi-Oh! meme?? Lol, I’m sorry.

This game is one of the best I've found in a while and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone who enjoys visual novels and otome games. There are not enough around in my opinion and this one is worth the investment of money and time. I adore the characters and the hugely complex world of this game, it pulls on the heart-strings and leaves you wanting more. PROS: - The routes are all separate with completely different stories~! - You don't have to play all of the routes if you don't want to. - The sprites, BGs and CGs are GORGEOUS - The music is really really lovely! - World is expansive and so much world building - Characters are well thought out and interesting - 3 Good Ends and 3 Bad Ends. - QUALITY CONS: - The format is a little unusual and potentially confusing for buyers (which is why so many reviews are complaints that the game isn't free). The demo is free but you need to buy the guy's route separately and it downloads into the same game giving you access to it, Hikaru's route is in two parts, and for all the routes you also need to separately buy the epilogues. - May feel pricey because you're buying the bits separately but really isn't.
I would recommend playing this rout last before hikaru's,
bc then you get all the hidden references etc. A lot of characters of other routes (nearly all of them) are in this, it even has some spoilers for other routes too.
Game overall:
- My only critique is the music, wich becomes boring after some loops. - CS were good but i would have hoped for more (or i'm used to get more of them in other VN/Otome). + Other that that the game is unusually polished + i personally enjoyed a more western/realistic artstyle for once + and the writing was good (both in grammar AND storytelling) + the maincharacter is normal, in a GOOD way. She reacts grumpy when someone is rude, shes flustered if its the situation but shes not overly anything. The writing conveyed a fully fleshed charcter wich you shape with your reaktions one by one. I really enjoyed seeing this instead of one blunt character!
This particular Route:
+ Overall this route was very interessting. You learn a lot about the world, the characters (wich you shoud know from other rutes already) and the main mystery of Shizuha. + Taku as a person is written pretty good, not the best of the bunch ut believeble albeit sometimes beeing a bit extreme in his uuuh let's say "outbursts", wich at times makes the writing / his character a bit questionable and more fiction-esque than realistic + their relationship is one of the more fuctional and realistic ones, its especially nice to see important or "hard" topics being dealt with and solved through conversations wich is not seen often in fiction (sadly) (- at times i found the protagonist a bit out of control (just like his ourburts) but the given excuse (beeing that shes just way to in love with him and tbh a bit clingy) is enough to make me stand it )
