This is a first for even me when I state this; it's my very first music maker purchase. How was it? Could add more sound pools etc. but there's already a lot present. It's a bit complicated and takes a bit of time to get use to but other than that? Works like a charm. My only issue is that I tend to get crashes here and there when I start adding more tracks. It's easy to learn if you put your time into it and especially, if you're new like me. Track made with Music Maker 2017 https://youtu.be/H6w7QyREkDw

Really easy to use music creation software... but!!! It keeps cashing for no apparent reasons... and i can't find another music software that offers me as much as this one, so i'll keep it because i need it... You're warned if you're looking to buy this. Just make sure you create a couple backups for every tracks you create. That or learn it the hard way.

Easy to use, but you can not combine stuff from dubstep to hip hop etc. My problem is that it changes bpm automatic, no mather what i do it keeps fucking me over. Go with fl studio instead, also, this has some copyright issues so you can not do any commercial stuff with this one.

Even after the latest update of May, the application keeps crashing for simple actions. I liked the simplicity of the interface, but if I am losing work every few minutes almost, who is going to hold on to this! Sick of this application

I received this product for free and was not aware I was receiving it. At the time of this review, I'm just under two hours of use. I know that is not very long to spend within a D.A.W., but I've come to say that my first impression hasn't been a good one. I decided to import some raw audio files from an old Reaper project of mine. Doing this saved me some time. I left out the drums and imported a midi of the drums to test out the included drum VSTi. I find mixing to be a pain in this program compared to the one to which I'm accustomed. The included VSTi's were decent. The drums and synth being my favorites. I like them more than the D.A.W. itself. The workspace is just a pain for me. I come at this very biased as I've been on Reaper as my primary D.A.W. for the last nine years, but there is not much about this program that has felt intuitive to me. It feels clunky. The Piano Roll works as expected and I don't have any complaints there. It supports third party VST plugins, but I can not for the life of me get mine to load. Thanks to this, I found the VST effect filters for guitar they have. I have not listened to them all, but I was surprised to find that they weren't terrible. Mind you; they were not good either. Plenty of free guitar amp modeling exists which sound better, but it's not terrible considering the sixty dollar price tag paired with the rest of the contents. Despite them being better than I expected it just reminded me that I wasn't using BiasFx. I'm sure I'll get them to work eventually. I'm not positive what's wrong. During my short test, I did not hook up a midi controller. I don't often use it as I use a tablature program for most of my midi work. I export the midi file from there, import it into my D.A.W., and then make any further edits I need manually. It's likely I won't test the controller. Despite importing old audio files, I did check my inputs, and it worked just fine. Hard to mess that up. I haven't any interest in loops, so I left that terrain alone. As I said earlier, my biggest problem with Music Maker 2017 Steam Edition is the workplace. I do not like interfacing with it, and I'm not sure whether it's because I'm too stuck in the programs I'm used to or if it's just indeed clunky. I haven't stepped out of my waters in a long time. If this is your first time getting a D.A.W., then this might work out for you. I still wouldn't recommend it, though. This program is the same price as what I usually use, but nowhere near as good. It comes with a fair amount of stuff to get you started making music with midi, but I would still steer newcomers to look elsewhere. I've read people are having a lot of crashes, and I've not experienced this yet. Will update if it starts in future use.

So many bugs in this one. Better stick to something else, because it is unusable atm. Can't see the names of the instruments or sounds in sound banks. Magix just lost a future customer. They have no support and they make crap out of everything they get their hands on. 0/10 because this piece of software does not work.

I really recommend Music Maker 2017, one of the best programs on the market with good price. You don't need talent to make great music. + A large selection of soundpools + Nice design of program + Great for professional music creation + Better than Music Maker 2016 Simply, buy it. My opinion

This is a very good software to start off is you are music making, the loops for the people who are just starting and are messing around with the softawre but it can do much more advanced stuff also for more experienced people using this program. 1 1 / 1 0

Not as well featured as Sonar Home Studio, but certainly a nice application to start with. And if need more, you can always use Samplitude Music Studio (as it can read the same files).

Don't buy this shit, it installs a little thing called "Connect" on your computer. Which will show you ad pop-ups, this part of Music Maker 2017 isn't unistalled when the program is removed. You will have to remove it manually through Windows 10 apps or the control panel on older versions of Windows.

        Jan 4, 2019

The app is ok, and i dont have much to say about that. My problem is that all songs created with the app are imediatly licensed under the app, making it illigal to post the music to most websites, ruining the whole point of making a song. If you want to create music and publish it, i reccomend using something else.

        Apr 30, 2019

I thought it was my computer that was making the program crash, but it's not just me. don't spend your money here
      • MOLEMAN

        Jul 5, 2019

This overpriced joke of a program will eat every piece of your patience before, while and after you use it. It corrupts files like it's the CIA when they are incriminated in something, it somehow corrupts itself and forces you to reinstall it multiple times, it uses way too much of your computer capacities for nothingness, it implants automatically ,and without any way to change this, pop-ups and already made songs. It forces you to "work" in complete silence because it blocks media players of other applications like spotify and youtube. It's slow, confusing, stupidly made with absolute garbage final products. The last shit-stain this monstruosity will give you is that it's almost impossible to change the file type, corrupting itself when you want to upload it to, let's say, SoundCloud or Youtube. People who made this, I hope you can't sleep at night while knowing you willingly scammed a lot of people. Sincerely, never touch a keyboard ever again. Thanks. -10/10

So i never write reviews, but i have to here. i LOVED this software for a really long time. i made many projects from scratch and enjoyed making beats from empty MIDI objects. The problem is they changed something in an update that wont let me make songs from scratch anymore. The MIDI objects do not function properly as i cant put in the notes or edit anything. I have over 30 projects now i cannot add to or change without ruining them forever. PLEASE fix this glitch developers so i can make music again change it back to where i can put notes in an MIDI object. IF that happens i will pour a lot more time into this software.

After reading many other reviews, and investigating myself. This product contains specific terms which pretty much limits what you can do with your "created" song. "e.g. Private websites, home videos, playing songs in a private environment" UDHAWDUIAHWDIAH ruins the whole point to so many uses and doesnt seem to be clearly represented on the product itself. >:(

        Jan 21, 2020

If it weren't for the fact that it came free with a different purchase of Steam software that does not have the same stability issues, I would write a stronger negative review. Music Maker 2017 is nice software--but only if you can get it to run. It is prone to numerous crashes, sometimes even crashing right before the program starts. When that happens, you have little recourse other than uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Unless you like reinstalling software repeatedly, find some other software that's more stable and less error-prone.

The app is ok, and i dont have much to say about that. My problem is that all songs created with the app are imediatly licensed under the app, making it illigal to post the music to most websites, ruining the whole point of making a song. If you want to create music and publish it, i reccomend using something else.

I thought it was my computer that was making the program crash, but it's not just me. don't spend your money here
