Will give the one thing up front that I might feel would be a huge turn-off for some gamers who like spooky games: WARNING: This game contains many jump scares. If you despise that, you may want to find something different to play than this. Okay, now back to the main review... I'm really into playing HOG's. I play loads of these types of games. I went into this one with the desire to play something new and original...and spooky. I got it for sure here! As for features, there's a map function (where you can fast travel to other areas of the map you're on) and it's supposed to show where there are things you can do, but I never saw that on mine. There's a hint feature, but I almost never needed it. That's not because the game isn't challenging. It is. It's just that it's not really one of those hated "pixel hunting" types of HOG's. I bought the Collector's Edition and there was supposed to be a guide. I opened it and it was completely black. No text. Am assuming this is a bug and not a feature. There are achievements, but once again (as is the norm with these types of games), they do not translate to any type of Steam ones. The achievements are all kept in game. There's the "find a morphing object" in all HOG's one and a "Find the Madhead symbol" in the regular map ones. Nothing that you haven't seen done similarly in other HOG's before. If you find all of the Madhead ones, you can get an extra HOG at the end of the game. Don't stress too hard to find all of the symbols because you can go back at the end of the game and look for ones you missed. There's also a fun little jigsaw puzzle, which was nice. There's an extra chapter, which I enjoyed. It wasn't too short and it wasn't too long, which I appreciated. It was also tied in nicely with the actual main story of the game. The main story was really quite good, even if the main villain became annoying as heck at times. I'm not sure if she was meant to be that way or if it was just my own interpretation of her. She was definitely unique, compared to other villains in HOG's I've played. I just think the old adage of "Less is More," might've helped here. Having her appear to harass the protagonist (Christine) on rarer occasions would've probably been better. It would've kept some of the mystery longer and I think it might've gotten rid of a few of the (way too many) jump scares in the game. Also, the maze itself felt a bit short, compared to the rest of the game. It might've been nice to have a few more rooms there to do before we "escaped" and went to figure out the rest. However, compared to most HOG's I've played over the many years, it is definitely ranked near the top for me. It's really that good.

The game had a very interesting story and never bored me for a moment. The soundtrack of the game is also very good. This soundtrack made the game even better. The puzzles were very clear and not so difficult. I definitely recommend this one and will play it again in the future.

This was top of the marks in the Mountain Crime Requital scale~!!! This was extremely fun with a great variety in the way they did their Hidden Object parts!! I really enjoyed my time through this game. One of my favorite things they did is that each hidden object puzzle's objects were pretty in theme with the screen, and not just a random assortment of objects haphazardly copy pasta'd into the puzzle. All the extras and collectibles were lovely as well!! The story was alright - not bad, not good, but certainly more effort was put in it than most of the usual stories. I enjoyed the characters and the voice acting and they did a really good job making the main villain really annoying. The voice acting was great as well!! Top marks for everyone. As for the horror aspect, there were a few well-timed jumpscares and some creepy bits! I think it hit the marks for the most part, but the creepy was only in certain parts and not throughout, but I don't think that's a bad thing. Highly recommend this to anyone who likes a good hidden object game.

Puzzles were fine though I had to skip 2 of the ones that relied on guessing combos, as the amount of possible combos.. would have been just ridiculous. Decent amount of playtime. This is one of the better Hidden Object Games I've played. In the main story line, you play a woman who's vacation is disrupted when she finds herself living a nightmare. I thoroughly enjoyed the first part of the game, which takes the main character through a hellish maze, in which the threat of death literally lurks around every corner. The voice acting of the main villain is superb; the voice acting of the main character was subpar (in my opinion). She sounded quite bored for someone who was experiencing life-threatening terrors. The artwork and puzzles were very good. I liked the mad rush to solve one particular puzzle- failure meant death! There are also some choices offered to your character- choose wrongly, and things can get uncomfortable. I hope to see more games in this genre take this suspenseful route- where players are offered opportunities to make bad decisions that result in consequences in the game. Overall, this game was creepy fun!

A nice little gem in the HOG genre, story on the sinister side with a few light jump scares - and it is still casual! And what I personally really enjoyed was a story so different from the usual HOG stories (aka some one dear to you is lost/abducted/gone somewhere else, and you gotta find him/her') - here you have to save not only the town but also yourself. Some of the puzzles are really easy, while others were a fresh take on the HOG screens, and they fitted nicely in the story. Only gripe I had was some of the voice acting, but I've heard worse. I think the game is worth the money, and should you find it one sale - even better, a must grab if you enjoy HOG.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. I find it difficult to find a good creepy hidden object or point and click game that doesn't involve too much having to kill things or run away from things, I'm interested in the storyline and atmosphere and can't be doing with being constantly timed or under attack. So I was extremely happy to find this game: while there is some level of threat involved in parts, it's not constant, not too difficult but just enough so to keep it interesting, and it gives you choices in parts, which is also interesting to have for once in a HOG. The atmosphere was fantastically creepy, actually surprisingly horror-ish for these games, so REALLY pleased with that. A few jump scares too. The puzzles are also varied, and some are based on searching for things based on hints, not the name of the objects themselves, which was again really different and refreshing- they are just hard enough to make you think properly, not so simple that it's tedious.

Really enjoyed this one. I actually got into the story. Not the usual story you get with HOGs. Also, the voice acting was good, and there was a decent variety of HOG scenes. You don't know where you are. You don't even remember how you managed to get stuck in a such scary, trapped, dark, sinister place, with a little girl that taunts you. You have to face your fears but the truth... the truth is something you never expected. You don't have a choice but to survive long enough to save yourself... Maze: Subject 360 has a warning of psychological intense thriller. I was kinda disappointed because I was really expecting something way more scary or with real fear but I suppose that I've expected too much for a casual adventure game. Yet, the psychological side is present and well, Maze: Subject 360 isn't really set for anyone, I understand better the warning: the game isn't really "safe" for children, with the darkness and the twisted beginning of the game. And the disappointment is also due to the twist after the first part of the game, which ended too soon for me. But well, similar sequences are happening after but you're just missing then the real beat you had first. However, the story is well written. The gameplay is quite the standard here: use items, find objects, solve puzzles, etc.. The driven by choice mentionned in the description isn't really present, which is a shame. It would have been great to have more of that. However, the rest of the game is quite easy and I must say that I really enjoyed to find how to get past traps. Hidden objects scenes are easy too, which isn't a bad thing in the end (I've finished Mystery Cases Files: Hunstville and it reminded me how it was in the early era of hidden objects games: challenging but sometimes too much). The graphics are great: it's really fitting to the ambiance of the game, like the soundtrack. Anyway, Maze: Subject 360 is really a good game, though the description can set higher expectations - it would have been really a true new experience if you could have more choices, more paths. But hey, it's a casual adventure game and it's probably a choice not to get further. Go ahead, the game is worthy of your pennies.

Easily one ofthe best horror hidden object games I've ever played! The story is engrossing from beginning to end, the scares kept me on the edge of my seat, and it hit the nail on the head when it comes to the atmosphere and pacing, this including the bonus chapter. It was an adrenaline fueled gaming experience that kept me absorbed until the very end and left me with an ending that was very satisfying. This game is another reason Mad Head Games is the king when it comes to HOG games.

One of the best hidden object games I have played, the story is pretty compelling and the characters encountered are interesting and believable (within the context of the fantastic/horrific story that plays out), and the gameplay is decent enough to not get in the way - the puzzles are all on the easy to trivial side, but in this case it does help in a way by avoiding breaking the flow of the story when you get stuck on atricky puzzle for ages. The hidden object scenes are mostly of the find the item from its name which I prefer, although there are some of the "interaction required" items that need you to click something else at random to reveal the named item, which I don't. There are also a few matching pairs scenes which were fine. There didn't seem to be any of the translation issues which can severely break this type of games (one exception comes to mind - bottles meaning test tubes when there were several actual bottles in the scene). Overall this one is highly recommended if you want a fairly standard hidden object game raised by a superior and far less derivative storyline than is the norm for the genre.

Recommend but only on sale due to how short it is. Pros .Interesting story .Well done artwork/graphics/scenes .Enhancing music/sounds/voice acting .Four difficulty modes including custom .Mini-map with fast travel .Lockable toolbar .Gears appears when object in place for possible use .Challenging adventure play .Variety of hidden object scenes .Collectables (crooked swirl) .Morphing objects in hidden object scenes .Interactive elements in scenes .Bonus chapter Cons .Easy mini-puzzles .Quite short even including the bonus chapter .The journal constantly popping up was very annoying and broke the immersion. Final opinion (7/10): The game started out as a gripping horror but then morphed into a typical mystery adventure. By that time, I was pulled into the story and still enjoyed the game but feel it lost its most compelling elements.
