The Rockwell B-1B Lancer™, affectionately known as the "Bone" to its crews, is a key element of the American Strategic Long Range bomber fleet. The aircraft, while not technically stealth-capable, is designed to present only a fraction of the radar profile of earlier large bomber types and incorporates extremely advanced navigation, weapons, and avionics systems. Its swing wing technology, combined with four 30,000-lb thrust turbofan engines, creates a beautiful, fast, and instantly recognisable package. The development of this successor to the B-52™ began in the early 1960's and resulted in a contract being awarded to Rockwell in 1970. The B-1A™ first flew in 1974 but only 3 prototypes were built. 1981 saw an order placed for a fleet of 100 B-1Bs™, the last of which were delivered in the early 1990's.

Features:

Native FSX model with all FSX features

Authentic virtual cockpit with animations and mousable controls

Many custom interior and exterior animations including automatic wing sweep on load-up

High-fidelity sounds set from Turbine Sound Studios

custom afterburner rumble sound

Many simulated cockpit systems, including the VSD

I bought it and now somewhat regret it. It does have a virtual cockpit and a gps...and that is it. No regular cockpit, no panel device shortcuts and a semi-functional auto pilot. I hope you like going at maximum thrust, as once you hit it your auto speed doesn't slow down. You have to manually drop your speed once you hit max thrust, this has been a problem since this addon first came out years ago and I see they still have not fixed the problem. Shame since it's now a paid dlc.

As a former B-1 crew chief, i was a little dissapointed. No fuel managment control, apu control, interior lighting(its not always nv green), amongst other a few other things. Being certified by Boeing, w/the price, I was a little let down. Maybe a future update huh (doubtful). I still enjoy the product, as it takes me back to crewing the BONE. And if you do purchase, read the manual.

This is a great add on. It has taken me a couple of hours to get to grips with the controls but now I have it's a great aircraft easy to handle but can bite you at the same time. :) If you are looking for a an aircraft which is a mix between a fighter and an airliner I would highly recommend and low level flight is great fun!

Wow, love this aircraft. Great fun to fly, and gorgeous to look at. Handles like you'd imagine the real thing would. I definitely recommend it, even though it doesn't have a 2D panel.

The Virtavia B-1 is one of my favourite paywares because of it's features as a quality addon. With a near fully functional cockpit and exterior along with the effects, lights and no lag, it's certainly worth the money. There is two problems which could be fixed but one of which unlikely to keep the game rated E/G. Bombs are in the bomb-bays but you can't drop them unless you have tacpack. If you happen to be here for the weapons, go to the tacpack website where you can get T.P for 50 US dollars. The other problem is with the paints- If you happen to be here for some cool textures, as I said with the Virtavia C-17 go online to a flightsim payware dedicated website where you will be able to get the same addon with more than one texture and in the B-1B's case, more than three models. That's all I have to say about the "Lancer" and it's qualitys in the current version. Happy flying!

Poor Aircraft Simulation. Cockpit lacks any real usable switches. THE AIRCRAFT IS DIFFICULT AND UNRESPONSIVE TO FLIGHT CONTROL COMMANDS. No ability to drop JDAMS on people's house or anything (joke). Difficult control on attempted takes offs. Might be me, but no other aircraft responds this way

Please do not buy this not even on sale, it is a semi complete aircraft at best read the reviews below they say everything that is lacking that i could reiterate but its already there, it seems like a half asses aircraft that for free would be great but being that you pay for it......screw that Wish i could have that money back.

This is a very under-rated airplane. Great physics, really easy on the frames, and lots of fun! Many little things work like the bomb bay doors. Do a little reading in the manual and you'll have a blast! A few quick start pointers I can think of: Don't be ashamed of Ctl+E, pretend your first officer is doing the startup. Take off config IS in fact full flaps Use your "Angle of Attack" tape on the far left to reference when to retract, or extend your wings or flaps. (I use above or below 5 degrees as reference. Your Nav/GPS switch is the knob on the bottom left of your PFD, right click the knob in the right corner to turn that PFD on. I leave the comments open if I can be of any extra help. Highly recommended, especially for sale price.

It's a shame for Boeing that they gave this piece of shit a licence. It just shows their terrible missmanagement like in projects as the 787 Dreamliner. Don't buy this if u like quality of textures and a functional VC.

I grew up in Chicago and I remember, as a kid, this BEAST flying low and fast right along the lakefront. It was so loud that it would set off all of the car alarms in all the neighborhoods along the lake. I have always loved and wanted to fly the B-1B. This addon is mediocre but its the best sim that I know (I've looked for others) of for this aircraft at this point in time. As much as I was skeptical about buying this aircraft, I really wasn't all that disappointed. I thought it handled just fine flying. Anyone who tells you that it is flawed in flight just hasn't RTFM (Read the F****** Manual). Decents and landings can be tricky but quite fun if done properly. No combat capabilities but still fun to fly low and fast across the ground. Yes, this is pretty much a "half finished" payware aircraft. Lots of buttons and switches that don't work which is disappointing but this DLC is cheap, especially on sale. Give it a go if you've ever been as big of a fan of the B-1B as I am. I really hope someone makes a detailed simulation for the B-1 with combat capabilities, like in DCS World, but until then, this is the best we have.

You gotta really love this plane in order to feel good about buying it. The B1B can only max out at Mach 1.25 and cruises without afterburner at a steady M1.10 at about %85 to %90 throttle. Depends on the load out weight. I love how the wings sweep all in or all the way out, but also can be set anywhere in between. The cockpit looks a bit under represented and sort of bland, but it’s a military aircraft so what should I expect? It’s just a cool super sonic bomber with an interesting history and I find I still take up once in a while. Usually when I want to cover longer distances a bit faster. Bombay and belly exit doors all open and close. Try flying at Mach 1 just above the trees, it’s a fun way to experience this plane.

The model, inside and out look good, and the sounds are even better. it look some time looking at the manual(highly recommend reading it) and trying things in order to get the autopilot working. Once I did it flew very well. The moving wings are smooth, and the bomb doors even open, but no bombs drop. Overall I love it
