    These rods and reels are top notch float tackle, and the jacket and tackle box provide plenty of backpack space. The line supplied, however, is somewhat heavy/coarse for crappie and panfish fishing. I would use something with thinner line diameter, like pro braid or weaker mono to increase bite rate (just make sure to adjust your reel drag setting down so that you don't risk breaking the line on a snag or bigger fish). Read the bait and fish descriptions carefully to target your bait presentation - many different bait types work, including "common" ones like bread and pearl barley.
