You can't even get this anymore, there's no reason to review it. It's worthless. A bunch of (mostly) ugly paintjobs for the early-game ships only.
• Kazuki

May 26, 2016

A bit on the expensive side for so little content, to be perfectly fair. Wouldn't buy again. Why wouldn't I buy again? Because these cosmetics only apply to the basic ships and they're not that varied. For how long do you use these ships? For maybe A DAY max. A few hours of grinding, god knows that's what the game is all about at this point, and done. All these painjobs are useless. In a matter of hours. Whether the prices on their page are far more expensive isn't the point at all. And that, even further, should prove the point. Colors, and especially those for the dirt cheap ships, shouldn't be this or that expensive. Seriously. It's only a single coat of full paint, solid in this bundle, for these three beginner ships. Nothing else. Color variety isn't wide and design isn't precisely thorough.

Got it bundled with game and NH, I don't really care about it, but in my opinion, this cosmetic items is WAY overpriced. This should sell for buck or two... not $20. Whole store is way overpriced... but as I've already said, I don't really care about cosmetics... otherwise main game is lots of fun.

Jul 26, 2016

It's not worth the money, just get it with the Commander edition. All the people who are complaining about not getting the skins are idiots who can't read. Whenever you start the game it gives you a pop-up window with the CD-keys for the game, copy the one for the Commander Pack. When you get to launcher, in the upper left hand corner, there is a box that tells you that to get the skins you need to register the key with your account. Do that and boom, you are able to follow written instructions to complete a basic task. But for real don't buy it in the first place, it's worse than Oblivion's Horse armor.

Honestly this is nothing more then a cash grab and not worth the money at all. ** If your having trouble getting this DLC to work in game. You need to get the key from this dlc and go to the elite dangerous website and add it your account on there** You can't add the DLC through steam they seem to just sell the keys

Got it in the Deluxe edition. Buuuut, I never used them. TBH, I wouldn't recommend buying any ship skins unless you are sure you will be using that ship in the future. SRV skins are useful if you have Horizons, since they apply to every SRV. But ship skins are exclusive to some ships, so if you switch you will not have a skin anymore. All these skins are for low-level skins, and I went from Sidewinder to Hauler, and then Type 6. So these are kinda useless.
• lomtong

Apr 21, 2017

Recieved as part of a bundle, if you're thinking of buying this seperately, don't. You can only use paintjobs on your first ship which you won't be using for long. If it included the ability to use the paint jobs on all your ships, it may make it worth it, if you're very invested in the aesthetic of your ship. Otherwise you will get more value from your £8 by eating it.

Aug 2, 2017

I personally believe that when you pay 10 Bucks for six skins that are either too bright or juts ugly i expect you to recieve those skins for all the ships, not just three shitty ships you wont use after you rise above the combat rank of novice. I want my money back to be honest. If you want some skins in the beginning however i recommend this pack but i suggest you save those ten bucks for buying permanent skins for ships you will use for a long time, like the vulture or anaconda ships, and the skins only cost about a buck, or more. Just dont spend your money on theese skins.

This came with a "pack" I bought (ED, ED:Horizion, this DLC). If I had bought this seperately, I'd be hugely dissapointed. As part of the pack, I'm still hugely dissapointed.
• GrassMoss

Nov 24, 2017

Chances are, if you got this, it's becuase you bought the bundle, and you thought it was useful DLC, similar to the Horizion's Pass. Unfortunately, this turns out to be a utter waste of money, because it is cosmetic skins and nothing else. Hopefully you see this before buying.

$11.99 for some ship skins? Who the hell are you? SEGA?
• Riggz

Feb 5, 2019

This is pretty clearly just paint jobs for a couple starter ships. It's all purely cosmetic and if you like that sort of thing, this is for you. If you don't like buying cosmetic stuff for your games, then this isn't for you. There isn't much more that can be said about it. People leaving negative reviews because it's a "rip off" are the kind of people who always blame all of their troubles on everyone and everything around them. The description of the item *clearly* indicates that it is just a few paint jobs and which ships it is for. If you paid money for it, and then felt "ripped off" you have no one to blame but yourself. Take some responsibility, kids. No one tricked you into buying this. There was no deceptive advertising or claim. It's absolutely unfair and petty to down-rate a product that is exactly what it was advertised to be. These paint jobs are offered as a way to customize your ship. They only work on the ships mentioned in the description and you will, most likely, only be in those ships for a short time. Keep that in mind before you pay the ~$8 for it.

May 11, 2019

It's free stuff (some paintworks) as long as you buy the Elite Dangerous: Commander Deluxe Edition. So I can only recommend it as part of the Elite Dangerous: Commander Deluxe Edition. That means you don't own the game and the season pass (horizons) yet and want to buy both of them at the same time. If you already own the game it's really not worth the money.
• SC0RP10N

May 12, 2019

Really expensive for some paint for ships I won't really use later on in the game.
• Mavadelo

May 10, 2020

It is skins for 3 ships. It is exactly as advertised. So that is the reason for te thumbs up. Now to the question "should I buy this". The answer is simple, if it is a seperate purchase (which currently April 2020 isn't the case) hell no. As part of the deLuxe pack... it is free, take it. Would I recommend the Deluxe edition? hell yeah. If you want to play E.D to it's full potention E.D + Horizons is the way to go.. Note: Since a few months E.D has started with ARX, a microcurrency that you can use to buy skins like in this pack. each wekk, trhough normal play, you will earn a maximum of 400 arx. With a few weeks of play you can buy much better skins. If you already have E.D but not yet Horizons don't bother with the deluxe edition if both E.D and Horizons have their own discounts as well. If only the deluxe edition would be discounted for a price that saves you good money it is an option. Personally I think they should just discontinue this one or put it in an ARX packet (I don't know 5000 ARX and these skins as starter pack foor 5 euro/dollar

Okay, so 18 patterns, 6 each for 3 different kinds of ships. So if you're not running one of those ships, this is no good. I don't recommend this.
• [BR1] TheLoudCanadian

Jun 17, 2020

If you get the Commander Deluxe Edition, it comes as a nice bonus. I wouldnt pay money for this though, as it's for 3 beginner ships that when you upgrade past, you'll never touch again. If you buy a paint pack, or a parts pack, wait till you get far enough into the game to get a ship you plan on keeping. That way it'll actually last.
