About the Game

From the creator of &

You are the only astronaut who survived after a spaceship crashed on an unknown planet. To escape to safety, you must use the robot as you try to find a way to transmit a distress signal. Find the materials, solve math problems to craft electronic components and build upgrades for your robot.

Key Features

TAKE COMMAND OF A ROBOT: Take a Turbospider, and send him on missions against hostile planet.

RESEARCH AND UPGRADE: Create new electronic components. Collecting materials on the map allows you to find more materials for making advanced electronic components. Build parts upgrades for your robot from the electronic components.

COLLECT MATERIALS: The map is randomly generated – in each playthrough, you’ll find random materials in different locations.

LEARN THE BASICS OF ELECTRONICS: You will work with a number of basic electronic components when crafting robot parts upgrades, including resistors, capacitors, diodes and transistors. The one caveat is that you will have to solve simple math problems to build these components.

Not sure if I had an atypical experience but I beat the game in about 20 minutes without much challenge. Didn't need to explore most of the crafting tree either. Its possible I had insane luck or not, but not worth the $5. If its on sale or comes down in price I have no problem recommending it, but not at the current price. Edit: My play time is misleading, I closed out the game and it appeared to close but it kept running invisibly in the background for a few hours before I noticed. Actual play time is maybe a half hour. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sijRNLtp-Fc Edit: Apparently my experience was so short due to a bug that has since been corrected. I no longer have any problem recommending it. The game is fun, thought provoking, and original. My only problem with recommending was the play time to price ratio.

Unless I am missing something, this game is heavily dependent on RNG. By that I mean you could be doing absolutely everything right, but still run out of blue regions to uncover before I have enough materials upgrade your navigation. I have lost twice now, due to nothing other being unlucky. The gameplay itself is very boring, the "puzzles" revolve around simple timed multiplications. I can't recommend this game in its current state.

This game is about your luck. You start the game and get immediate advice on what to do next. And here you are on the map, your transmitter does not broadcast far you let the robot in the first hike, in the hope of finding resources, or, more importantly, the antenna! Luck, chance, all this must play with you, you're on this planet alone. You and your luck on the desert planet. On the first pass, I could not survive. After detecting the battery, I did not go the right way, and the robot was badly damaged, it instantly resulted in permanent damage to the robot. The second time, luck was with me. I found all the pieces, and left the planet without upgrades for the robot. Luck and a maybe the scanner will help you! Advantages: 1. Replayable, definitely. 2. A great soundtrack! (Mr. Nolan?) 3. Beautiful design. 4. Low price. 5. Simplicity. 6. Mathematics? Disadvantages (not the game): 1. Luck is not always with you. Rcommended to buy in collection. 9/10 because my bad luck. :D

The game is okay. The beginning is all luck till you upgrade your NAV. I played two games. First game i was not lucky could not find what i needed to upgrade the NAV and died. Second game I got lucky and got my NAV upgraded, then I just farmed everything till I could upgrade my NAV again. I upgraded nothing but my NAV and had no problem in the late game. It's pretty easy. I would have beat the game in under 30 minutes but I wanted to clear all the areas and then I did all the Achievements and did the last quest. Brazed is a good idea, Just could be a little harder.

The fact people actually review this game well has stunned me more than this games bad design. The idea is great. The realization is not. On the first run, the entire first area didnt have anything but explosions, on the second, the first area didnt even EXIST. When I finally managed to MAKE the stirling engine, it killed my "Turbo Spider". After reading through discussions, I've noticed other people have found terrible auto generation problems that make the game unplayable. It's all based on dumb luck. Not worth it unless you enjoy grinding over several save files to get the right item.

I love the concept behind the game, but it was surprisingly short. I finished the game in a single playthrough, was shocked when I finished, since there's no buildup, and didn't feel compelled to play another round. The story about controlling a robot from an escape pod is cool, but the gameplay consists of little more than clicking cards and hoping they turn over items you need. I don't hate the game and I really like the sound, graphics, and environment, but the gameplay was just too short and limited to recommend it.
  • Catform

    Jan 22, 2017

As the other negative reviews state, the game is largely dependent on luck in the very beginning. Once you neutralize that (and you can reduce the chance of failure to very nearly 0%, unless you are further unlucky or mismanage resources), the game has 0 difficulty or meaningful interaction, and you just grind out the remainder of the game. You are required to click markers, which takes several seconds of waiting (you can spend resources to save some time, but that takes them away from something more useful) and solve some multiplication QTEs which very rarely require actual calculation: if you multiply 65 by 67, is the answer 118, 134, or 4355? The first two are obviously too small, so the answer is obvious. The majority of the QTEs are this obvious, and those that aren't are often simple enough for you to solve it quickly. On top of that, there is no penalty for failure other than having to try again. Aside from determining the single-minded 'optimal' strategy for game completion, the only penalty for failure is taking more of your time to gather and manage resources. If the game had an ambiance of survival or being stranded, it might be at least immersive for an hour or so, but the game is only an image of the planet and some menus with no descriptive text other than describing electrical components. I can't recommend the game in this state.

Premise: Stranded on a remote planet the player must find the items needed to fix their transmitter to call for help by searching the planetary grid. A minimalistic "survival" game of the strategy kind. No shooting, though. Just straight methodical strategy like in the game Battleship (Board game for those who have never heard of it.) A little luck and some logic is needed plus fast thinking for those 3 second math problems while crafting. Easy to understand, easy to play. Not a very long game, but is easily replayable due to random generation of materials, items and bombs in every new game. 8 achievements and trading cards for those interested. Pricing about average for an indie game.

The game description was everything I wanted, and the pictures looked pretty and simple to boot. But in this game, you don't really do any of the cool stuff like build a robot or pilot it, you instead play the board game battleship, where instead Misses damage you, and Hits get you 1/20th of the way to the next stage of the game. You can't survive the damage from more than 10 misses, and there are four stages you need to get through. Also, every time you guess a peg, you have to wait three seconds. Oh, and to get to the next stage, you need to do 10 math problems. If you make it, the end. Look, I'm sure this game was just made by some guy in his spare time, and I don't really want to be mean, but this game is a waste of time. This game is exactly like losing at slots in a casino. You play and lose, and try again, and there is only a small chance of winning, and just like slots at a casino, there is no strategic input the player can provide to increase your odds. Instead of spending money to play this game, flip a coin 30 times. If you got more than 7 tails, you lose, otherwise, you win. This is the level of enjoyment that this game provides.

After acquiring the materials you need to complete your first navigation upgrade through a degree of luck the game effortlessly coasts you to future upgrades and it's inevitable end just as soon as it began. It's a shame because a simple tweak of the game's statistics (i.e making the upgrades more expensive or the bombs not as easily detectable) combined with the game's randomized maps and permadeath feature could have made this game a challenge. Instead though the only redeeming quality about this game is broken down into a simple science, making this just another game in your collection for you to beat and then forget about.

A casual, relaxed little time waster. It is Minesweeper, except a lot simpler. You don't need to mark bombs, the game does it for you. It has some quirks. It seems impossible to max out any of the researches, but you don't need the higher levels for anything. You may have to start a few times to reach the first navigation upgrade without dying. After that you're almost guaranteed to escape the planet, and only extremely bad luck may force you to search in a yellow flag zone.
