[h1] 6.5/10 [/h1] BERSERK, I love it since I knew about this series through this game and got to know it. However, this game sucked. Very low character playability experience, Uninteresting level design, this game could be good, but it doesn't. Its story is the only place worthy of your experience in this game, but only before the Golden Age ends. The subsequent story has a very poor experience in the game. If you are not interested in the Dynasty Warriors games or the BERSERK series, this game is not your cup of tea. Also, this game may be very bloody, and the story of this game is also very dark and full of tragedy. You should not try this game, if you could not accept or appreciate this kind of story, too. On the whole, the story of BERSERK is very impressive, however, this game is a little bad. Finally, R.I.P, legendary manga artist Kentaro Miura, creator of 'Berserk, thank you for the good story you have brought to us.

It's Dynasty Warriors but Berserk. Play as everybody's favourite big beefy boy and absolutely wreck people by the thousands. VERY repetitive but it helps if you like Berserk and i do. So put your grasses on, nothing will be wong.

Finished the first level, my initial thoughts are that the game is pretty bad and plays off of fan's love for the series. Wish they would just port the PS2 game. - Combat feels clunky and floaty. Granted I don't have the "sub-weapons", but even with the golden age sword and basic combos it feels like a terrible power fantasy. I hit everything and racked up 1,000 kills from the 1st mission. This completely goes against the manga and makes the "hundred-man slayer" title from the manga a joke. - Literally nothing tried to attack me at all. It asked me if I wanted Easy mode and I said no, and the enemies were literally just staring at me while I killed them. - The amount of enemies thrown at you is just plain ridiculous. You two shot enemies with a ridiculous hitbox, and it still feels like it takes too long to kill things purely because you are always swarmed. - Music is trash somehow, just mute it and put on Blood and Guts or Black Swordsman or something. - That first boss was...wow. Dude had like 3 moves, and I even dodged *into* the attacks with terrible timing for iframes and still didn't take any damage. At one point I just stood still and let him hit me like 3 times and despite being sent flying I took like 1/8th of my HP in damage... - Combo chains feel really boring and bad. This game apparently released in 2016-2017. DMC3 released in 2005 and completely blows this game out of the water, despite being the same genre. I don't know how they looked at this and genuinely thought it was anything but a cash grab... - If every map is as massive as the first map then this game is going to be a huge waste of time. I get they want it to seem large, but it just felt unnecessarily open and a pain in the ass to move through. All in all I enjoy Berserk so I will probably keep it purely due to that (and getting it for $20 due to the sale), but anyone who isn't buying it purely due to it being a Berserk game should stay away. tl;dr - Combat is a power fantasy where you fight insane hordes who you two-shot with insane range and literally just stare at you instead of attacking. Combos are boring and you just end up spamming the same one because it's better than the others.

Lets face it, this game doesn't deserve any awards and you would only really bother with it because it's Berserk. Get it if you like Musou games and/or are a fan of the series. I wouldn't even give this a thumbs up but.....its Berserk, how can I not? Rip Miura.

I found myself continuing to play because of the cut scenes. They are really pretty i like the art style. I was enjoying listing to the story even more then playing it. When i play more i will say something about the combat. I like it though.

i know there's not many of them, but literally the best berserk game out there. some of the cinematic bits look a little weird or cheap, but when you're in levels slicing through thousands of enemies, hearing the *KLANG KLANG KLANG* and watching the blood spray, you really get this visceral feel thats almost a zone, or a flow; like playing tetris. every once in a while there are cool boss fights that change it up, but a couple of them are really picky about beating them in specific ways, while others you can just spam launch combo loops. i played the hell out of this game, and i think anyone interested in a good hacknslash, or anyone interested in berserk but dont want to watch the shows/movies, or read the manga, this isnt a bad intro. a little restrained from the original content, but i dont think any fan of the series would think it was tasteless sensorship for a video game adaptation

Put your glasses on, nothing will be wrong! If you're a fan of the series and looking for a bit of mindless slaughtering of NPC's this is your game. The cut scenes tell the story pretty well, and you play through most of the critical battles. There is a good amount of replay value for the game, even if you get bored of just cutting down enemies by the 1000's. Recommend buying it on sale
