There is no denying this is a very well put together HO style game. Instead of the usual 'mostly static locations you move about and click on things with a few puzzles' what you get is much more like an interactive cinematic experience (with some HO and other puzzles thrown in). The reason for the -ve rating is mostly value for money. I completed the 1st episode in under 80mins, without skipping any of the cutscenes. There were two, maybe three HOPs, and only one other puzzle which took more than a few seconds to solve. So while it's very well crafted, I feel it's way too short. Especially as there are some pretty decent HO games out there with far more content and replay value, despite the (slightly) less glossy presentation. The whole series (4 planned episodes atm) may well be better than any of the other HO games out there at the moment. But will cost at least four times as much. And I don't feel the extra gloss is worth it. If anything, it actually detracts from the puzzle-solving aspects. If what you want is a well presented interactive story (which is very standard 'supernatural dectective' fare) this is almost certainly for you. If you want puzzles and good value casual gameplay; then probably less so.

This was the best casual game I have played in a very long time. I have always admired MadHead and I am pretty sure I own all of their games. From the start, this game offers a real departure from the average "casual" adventure game. It features an engrossing plot , amazing graphics and very clever interactive action scenes. The voice overs were excellent and felt very real, not just read from a script... I was literally on the edge of my seat a few times and defintely never ever bored. I am really hoping that we will see more of Adam Wolfe ! Highly recommended!

Overall Rating: 8.5/10 Really interesting HOPA, fairly unique in the more Narrative driven game, with a decently good story. A bit odd for some people perhpas, dark and occult themed. But I really enjoyed the blood, violence, occulty theme and bizzare goings on, and hideous demon type characters. Definitely not for kids. No nudity, but the subject matter is not light-hearted, and the story does have a somewhat somber ending. People sensitive to paranormal, occult, dark themes that invlove violence, blood, death (lots of death), simulated gunfire and demonic energies... yeah. May not be for you. Pros:

Really good voice acting, good emotions, good flow, easy to understand, and the voices really fit the characters well.
Nice visuals. The art was pleasing, if you like dark and dreary, with a flair. Very well done stylng, and good flow through all episodes with the art.
Decently good story. Flows well from episode to episode. A little short in a few places, as if some small detail got cut, but nothing glaring, and enough depth to keep you interested and going on.
Nice fast travel map once enabled, and in areas where you are allowed to use it. This did take some leaving one area to trasition through a door to another before it was allowed, but it was not immersion breaking or game slowing, and actually made sense.
Decently ominous music for the story and settings, a bit reptitious at times, but not jarring or too much in front of the actual game.
Nicely done Hidden Object scenes, not too easy, not too complicated.
4 Difficulty modes to choose from, so the most casual or time limted players can enjoy it as much as the most hardcore HOPA players who want time limits and misclick penaties. Nice variety to choose from.
Cons: Not too many here, just a few, none too major-

Puzzles were a bit too easy for my tastes, but they were different from the average HOPA, so it balanced out nicely.
The Magic Watch was a bit boring and uninteresting, but it needed some gimmick, eh?
Not much replayability. Only a few areas where you can make different choices, and it does not seem like those will have much effect on the outcome of the game. 7.7 hours for a single playthrough on the 3rd Difficulty setting, not sure I will play it again anytime soon. But maybe in the future, just because I liked the subject and the hunky male protagonist, and the voice actor who played him so much, lol!
Full price may be a bit much for this game, but on sale I say "Get it!" if you like dark themes and enjoy really narrative driven HOPA's or HOG's. If you don't like a ton of talking, voice acting, and lots of cutscenes, and only want puzzles and HOS's, this may not be the game for you. But then again, it may. I generally don't enjoy Narrative driven HOPA's, and this one was very enjoyable for me, and would have lacked a ton if it wasn't narrative driven. I can't recommend it and the Season Pass at full price, not enough value for the time there. But on deep discount, well worth it. I got the game and Season Pass on sale during the Summer Sale for around $4 USD, and consider it money well spent. Your mileage may vary. Drive carefully.

Definitely a great game. I really enjoyed it. Great voice acting, humorous moments where the game kinda pokes fun at itself, a few hidden object games, but it mostly feels more like a point and click to me. Great fun. Played all four chapters. Hope this company will make more like this one. (Wrote a little longer review with screenshots on my blog.) Definitely worth getting if you enjoy these kinds of games, but take note to get the whole thing, not just the first chapter. (Wish the 'chapter' thing would stop. I prefer one complete finished game and will *always* refuse to buy until the games sell as a whole.)

Okay, so...not exactly being a veteran of Hidden Object Games, I thought I'd make things breezier on myself by playing this one on Easy with the Tutorial switched on. What at first seemed, then, like a potentially complex and varied bunch of mechanics soon became quite intuitive and user-friendly, though I suspect I would have suffered more "stumped" moments if I hadn't made things so painless for myself. Suffice it to say, more experienced HOG-gers may not need to stoop to such lows, but for newcomers such as myself, it's recommended. Just like the game I'm about to review, 'cause I gotta say, for a newbie I was pretty impressed... Not that this game has a reputation for being a typical, run-of-the-mill HOG by any stretch. Apparently it's quite the eclectic mixture of HOG and other point-and-click adventure tropes, and I have to say, it definitely "worked". At least for yours truly. Perhaps the main thing I'm saying here is that I didn't quite know what to expect - and held off buying until reviews convinced me otherwise - but I'm quite pleasantly surprised, on the whole. So what DO you get with this game? Scares? Not really. Atmosphere? Sure. Story? Yup, definitely. A cracking good mystery? Hell yes! In fact, this is possibly where Adam Wolfe excels most, both in its storytelling and its chosen form of interactivity, as there's a legitimately "detective"-esque vibe to it all which actually makes you feel like you're slowly unraveling a mystery, with the occasional moment of life-or-death action to add some real-time tension to it all. That said, there's no denying there's an element of smoke-and-mirrors - the game gives you so much to click on that the ILLUSION of interactivity sometimes exceeds the reality thereof - but when said design tactics create such a genuine sense of involvement with the story, it's pretty hard to complain. I honestly enjoyed it, and would recommend it to almost anyone with a penchant for the "darker" side of gaming, irrespective of other genre preferences and prejudices ("I usually only play third person shooters with minor platforming elements", etc). I certainly won't hesitate to buy the other episodes when I spot them on sale, as five or six bucks an installment is admittedly a tad steep given the length of gameplay on offer (I completed this one in well under two hours). Oh, and as a final selling point for those of you worried about abrupt and unsatisfying endings, rest assured that this first storyline - while it certainly opens the path to others - is a fairly self-contained story in its own right, should you choose to end your adventures there. So really...what have you got to lose? Especially on sale. It certainly left me keen to try out more HOG-style games in the future. Verdict: 8.5/10. (PS For anyone who was wondering, like myself, if the game name and main promo image were suggestive of a cheap Alan Wake rip-off, the similarities honestly end there. Personal myth busted.)

An unusual HOG with something of a goth / metal art style. On par with the Artifex games but taking a different approach, aiming to be a bit grittier than usual. Rather than finding a butterfly shaped key you might shoot a dude, for example. Then it's back to looking through piles of junk for a teapot or a screwdriver.

The plot and atmosphere are good, but the tasks the game asks you to complete are so simple they feel like chores. I suppose I'd rather read this as a comic, perhaps. I might have still given it a thumbs up, sometimes it's okay for there to be more style than substance, but then the conclusion is a bit disappointing, too. I guess I'll just go play Gabriel Knight again.

Having played most of the games that Artifex Mundi and JetDogs either developed or produced, I rate this as the best HOPA style (Hidden Object/Puzzle Adventure) game I have played to date. It is not the most complicated or even the longest but it has an intriguing story with a lot of depth. There is no forced playthrough on difficulty levels to complete all Steam Achievements. That is, you are able to tailor the game to your liking and then play to gain all Steam Achievements regardless of your difficulty settings. All four episodes are well done although I think the ending could have been better. Well worth your money and time. You are literally stealing from Mad Head Games if you were/are fortunate to purchase the entire collection at an 85% discount. 9+/10.

Adam Wolfe is a HOG (Hidden Object Game) game in which the players take the role of Adam Wolfe, a detective for the supernatural activities in San Francisco. The plot of the game is that Wolfe's sibling was mysteriously disappeared and Adam is trying to find her location from the puzzles that are on his way during the 4 episodes that are available. The gameplay is really fun and the player can learn the game's controls with ease. Also, i'd like to mention that the game features 4 difficulty levels if players desire to be supported multiple times, less or even never in-game. Trading cards and achievements are also included in the product (which is a plus for me) that all of them are really easy to obtained in one single playthrough. The graphics are really cool for a HOG game like this. Shadows, colours, textures and so on are beautiful even in the High settings. Game's really not heavy and every PC can run it without an issue. Audio voices and lines are really 'realistic' in my opinion which made me understand completely the whole game. Last but not least, everything was really cool but the only negative thing is about the game's price. I recommend buying this when it's on sale cause it's really expensive by paying 20 euros for a game which offers you 4 episodes. My overall experience with this game is really good and my critic for this product is 8/10. Casper

This game is more of a narrative adventure than a regular Hidden Object. Mad Head Games never disappoint me with their games! Their Maze series was and still is one of the best of this genre, Adam Wolfe is as good. Although it was released in 2016, this episodic game still as good as the new ones- if not better. It has 4 episodes in total and each episode is connected to the other nicely. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=941391471 Adam Wolfe is the protagonist of this series, a supernatural detective who's sister been missing for two years but he did not stop looking for her. In his mind, each case will bring him closer to find his sister. In the first episode, he will investigate a strange fire breakout which will lead him to a group of people with a mysterious background. This will be connected to the second episode where a man will seek him to open a mysterious box. The connection thing between the episodes is an infinity symbol ∞ which Adam finds in his investigations. I'm not going to say more about the story to not spoil it, but it is an exciting and intriguing one. I liked all episodes, especially the third. The episodes are:

The Ancient Flame.
The Devil You know.
Lady and the Painter
Zero Hour.
Voice acting was on point, especially the main character Adam, he did a really good job portraying his personality, it didn't feel forced or staged at all. I also loved the graphics of this game! and the comic-strip-like cutscenes were really good with this narrative game. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=940118758 This developer also did something cool with the hidden objects scenes, in addition to giving us a list of objects, they also made the character tell us a story behind the item, like when Adam says 'My old CELL PHONE still in working condition, this thing is indestructible' the item with capital letters is the one we need to pick in the hidden object scene, I found this style really interesting and adds to the story. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=941392011 Pros: +Great artwork. +Good story and ending. +Mystery/ detective style. +Verywell-done voice-over, especially the main character. +Variety of puzzles. +Well drawn and unique style of hidden object scenes. +Fitting music and atmosphere. +Fast traveling map. (Only to main locations) +Steam achievements. Cons: -The ending can be confusing to some people. Although last episode ending can be confusing - even to me, when you reply it or watch someone else playing it, you'll understand the whole thing. I think it ended nicely and I'm looking forward to the second season of this series. I highly recommend to adventure lovers and of course, HOGs gamers shouldn't miss this one! Strongly recommened. It's the best Hidden Object game I've ever played! -It's broken up into four chapters, each a unique case/store -Most of the hidden object scenes and things you have to find are given a sort of logic to them. Rather than being just a random jumble of objects -You can actually fight, and kick down doors, and interact with other characters a lot more -Fantastic graphics, well done voice acting, and really well written story

ENGLISH: One of the best hidden object games I've ever played. A compelling story. Cute characters. HO scenes and puzzles that have a strong link with the story (unbelievable!) and that are not only there to "be there" XD. I have only one question : when will the sequel be released?

This game starts strong and finishes poorly by comparison. I still recommend it because it takes the HoG genre and does some neat things with it. Pros ___________ + All voiced dialogue and is good for most of the characters. Some are noticeably better than other though. + On the whole it is more than the standard HoG fare of give you a list of items and find them all. It tells a story through the HoG scenes and this is something I would like to see more of. + The animation is very good + Has fast travel and a fairly fast hint recharge and abillity to skip minigames (always a bonus if you are just in it for the story) + they have incorporated fighting and shooting and driving into a genre otherwise devoid of these things. Cons ______________ - It feels like they got lazy towards the end of the episodes. Remember how I said it wasnt just a list of words you had to find? Well Episode 3 and 4 start to introduce these old school HoG elements and that made me sad. I throught they were never going down that route and that is what made the first 2 episodes unique. - The game just ends. So suddenly. And it is extremely anti-climactic. The hero is supposed to be.....well....the hero. The ending is weak and a huge disappointment because I didn't feel like the hero at all. - It is the most expensive HoG I have ever bought. _______________ So in a nutshell Adam Wolfe starts strong but kind of just falls over the finish line. I am still giving it the thumbs up because it is doing interesting things with the genre and I love it for that. I had alot of fun with the bulk of the game. It was really just the ending and a few of the busywork scenes that annoyed me.

Here's the full four episode experience. Episode 1: intelligently writing, clever puzzles, even some characters I really care about. Episode 2: weaker writing but still enjoyable! it's harder to roll with some major characters decisions because they just don't make any sense. The puzzles are still a lot of fun and they're still pretty clever. Episode 3: ALL THE CHARACTERS You have come to care about have now disappeared for no discernible reason. Reliance on hidden puzzle tropes for the puzzles have increased dramatically. Plot that needed a lot more time to percolate and characters that needed a lot more development are suddenly expected to be emotionally involving. Episode 4: Puzzles make absolutely no sense. Hidden object tropes now rule the day. The plot has jumped the shark at the very beginning of the episode. Smarter ending hinted at and then replaced with one that is completely laugh out loud hilariously bad. Started out very good with an ending that makes me wanna cry. Get it on sale, expect quality to decline. It's very clear that something happened in production on this game. 5/10

Adam Wolfe was a pretty interesting ride that was above average for a hidden object/puzzle game. The plot was pretty decent with each of the four chapters having different stories to solve as a supernatural detective which all tied in nicely together in the last chapter. The artwork is stunning and voice acting is amazing too. There was a nice variety of puzzles to solve and a few of them I quite liked. None were particularly challenging though. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2225422447 Having said that, I always opt to attempt to do these games without any hints or clues and that left me completely clueless at times as to what I was supposed to be doing. Some of the actions require very specific locations to click on and even a millimeter off caused a failed action. This can be highly frustrating as at times I guessed exactly what to do but thought I was wrong; leading to me looking around further and attempting to find a different solution until desperation forced me to repeat my steps another time. By the last chapter I wanted to rip my hair out. I felt a bit cheated by the ending of this game too. There was all that build up and then a very anti-climatic ending which endeavoured to be a cliffhanger. It left me sat behind my monitor thinking "Seriously?!". That's never a good thing in my opinion. It just left a sour taste in my mouth - so to speak. During the first half of the game, I enjoyed myself and really thought I'd recommend this game but the second half made me change my mind sadly; That ending being a huge part of my decision! Just not for me I guess!

Let me start by saying that I VERY much enjoyed playing the first episode. That being said, if you have a bug or something with the game, you're screwed. The 2nd episode is bugged for some reason, and I can't play it. I already uninstalled the game and installed it again, deleted my profile, etc... But that didn't work. So I reached out to the developer of the game. I've been waiting for over a month now and the problem still isn't fixed. So that's the reason why I don't recommend this game. The support is deplorable. When I pay for a game, I expect it to properly work, and it doesn't. After a month the problem still isn't fixed. Too bad the support on this game is SO bad. Otherwise I'd probably given it a thumbs up. So I can only say episode one was enjoyable. But since the support is so bad, I do not recommend it.

Awesome mystery and paranormal Hidden Object Game. I could say this is the next generation of HOG with not only point&click but also some action included. Highly recommended! ~6h to finish 100%. My Curator Page
